All moms are amazing heroines that bring love into the world! However, people often forget about these magical creatures. Why? Simply because - even though motherhood is wonderful, real parenthood can get a bit messy. Carrot stains, nappies, and a lot of sleepless nights...

So people prefer to focus on glamour, glitter and some pearls. Who’s glamorous? Celebrity moms, of course!

It’s a fact that all moms love their babies, so we should NOT attack any mothers. Still, we should admit that some celebrity moms present motherhood as something easy and flashy. Edited pictures, expensive toys, and witty posts.

The truth is that social media can’t reveal their exhaustion and postnatal emotions. Like any other mom, famous moms get annoyed at their kids, cry when they’re alone, sometimes drink in silence, and need some help.

But shhh!!! When it comes to help, nobody mentions the word ‘nannies’, even though they do exist. Actually, many celebrity kids have a mom... and a nanny. On top of that, celebrities are not aliens - like any other person, they might have their psychological traumas, family issues, and reasons to leave their babies. Did you know that even the great educator Maria Montessori who devoted her life to kids and education left her own child?

So let’s have a look at 15 celebrities, past and present, that didn’t even bother raising their kids. From nannies to family tragedies, celebrity moms are just like us.

15 Kim Kardashian

Let’s start with a name that comes up almost everywhere: magazines, articles, news, etc. We can’t lie! Kim is attractive, productive, and of course, a cool mom. Her kids North and Saint are lucky enough to have a wonderful mother and a big family.

However, with all this attention, we can assume that Kim and Kanye West are quite busy with their ‘celebrity duties.’ So what happens with the little ones? Well, they simply spend a lot of time with their nannies.

“It's a well-oiled machine with three nannies moving around the house, bringing the kids in for a quick Snapchat with mum, then whipping them away again if they start to cry or make a fuss”, an insider says.

Oh well, maybe Kim can’t be bothered raising her kids but she can take great photos with them for sure.

14 J.Lo

If for J.Lo “Love Don’t Cost a Thing”, motherhood does for sure as it involves a lot of nannies. Jennifer Lopez is another celebrity mom that people love… gossiping about. She’s sexy and talented, her love life is more than intriguing, and her kids are adorable.

But how can J.Lo look so perfect, relaxed and active? Definitely not by cleaning vomit from the carpet! She just has more time for herself while her twins Emme and Maximilian are with their nannies.

As Beth Torre at Celebrity Staffing Services says about the vast majority of celebrity moms, “Nobody can do the amount of work they do, and all of the traveling they do, and all of the social activity they do, without nannies.”

Although we don’t see the nannies, they are there raising those cute celebrity babies. So thank you, nannies!

13 Gwyneth Paltrow

Talking about nannies, or as the press calls them – Hollywood’s Dirtiest Little Secret, we should mention Gwyneth Paltrow. She is fabulous and a great mom. Not surprisingly, her kids Apple and Moses are so lovely. But how can she raise her kids while doing so many things at once? It’s true that women are good at multitasking, but it’s also true that celebrity moms often rely on nannies. Just like Gwyneth Paltrow.

Nothing wrong with that! Everyone needs some help from time to time. The point is that moms should stop comparing themselves to celebrities as there’s so much beyond the lights we can’t see.

In the end, it is messy to raise kids, but there’s nothing sweeter than that. Fake glamour or real parenthood, one thing is for sure – kids are miraculous and moms are superstars.

12 Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie is one of our favorite celebrities. She has done a lot - fighting not only for fame but social justice. However, her biggest achievement is her kids. Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne represent some of the most important family values: diversity, acceptance, love, and more love.

Although we can’t see that, Jolie gets a lot of help. As Andrew Morton claims in his book, she has an army of 25 staff members, including a lot of nannies. That’s good and no mom should be ashamed of having a nanny.

However, an In Touch headline reveals that Angelina’s children sometimes call their nanny “mommy” as they miss their own mom quite a lot. Let’s hope that they’ll grow up great individuals just like Jolie.

11 Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts! Such a “Pretty Woman.” Julia Roberts is a very beautiful mom, and her kids, Hazel, Phinnaeus, and Henry, should be proud of their mom. However, they might also get a bit lonely as they spend a lot of time with their nannies instead.

Julia Roberts doesn’t hide the existence of those mystical creatures – the Nannies, though. The actress told Access Hollywood that traveling and work wouldn’t be possible without the support she often gets from the father of her children, Danny Moder, and a couple of “amazing women” who help her with her kids.

Well, at least if her kids don’t get to spend enough time with her, they can still see her on the big screen, right?!

10 Britney Spears

Talking about pop music we should mention Britney Spears. Criticized a lot for her appearance, emotional problems, and behavior, this teen idol is a mother of two lovely boys, Sean and Jayden. When she became a mom, she said that her baby was her religion. All moms love their babies, true!

However, Britney Spears lost custody of her kids to her ex-husband Federline. Was she a “Toxic” mom? Probably just a suffering mom due to all the media attention. Actually, Britney Spears claims that due to an encounter with paparazzi, she drove away holding her son Sean on her lap – a notorious case that terrified many.

In the end, Britney had to deal with a lot of traumas, mental breakdowns, and pain, so she couldn’t raise her own kids.

9 Sarah Jessica Parker

From music to shows... If you’ve watched “Sex and the City”, you definitely remember Carrie Bradshaw – beautiful and provocative. Sarah Jessica Parker is not much different in real life: she is attractive and loving. Now a mother of three, Sarah Jessica Parker can tell us much more about love, sex and family life. Her son James and her twin daughters Marion and Tabitha are adorable.

We can’t be bitchy - they are a wonderful family. However, as like any other mom, Sarah Jessica Parker needs a bit of help. Although she’s said “No” to nannies, there’s a lady who helps her with the little ones.

People shouldn’t be ashamed to admit that they need a bit of help and time for themselves. Celebrities or not, we are humans and we need some support to raise our kids.

8 Heather Mills

Heather Mills is an English celebrity, mainly known as the controversial ex-wife of Sir Paul McCartney. Although many Beatles lovers hate her, Heather is a proud woman and a mom who wasn’t scared to continue her life and modeling career using a prosthetic leg and advocating for human rights. In fact, she's helped a lot of kids who lost their limbs in Africa and the Middle East.

Although Heather Mills and Paul McCartney couldn’t love each other, they gave a lot of love to their daughter, Beatrice. Nevertheless, Heather has spent more time in court after her divorce and the scandal with her ex-nanny Sara Trumble rather than with her own daughter.

In fact, Sara Trumble sued Heather for unfair dismissal, showing that nannies are real people, real people that help celebrities raise their cuties.

7 Kate Middleton

Let’s stay on this elegant island and enjoy some royal beauty. Kate Middleton might be ‘only’ a Duchess but she acts as a Queen. Gentle manners, charming smiles and a lot of charity campaigns. Prince George and Princess Charlotte are definitely two happy kids that have not only a royal but loving family.

However, having a royal for a mom is not easy. Kate has a lot of duties and it’s their nanny Maria Borrallo that’s always around the children. Writer Louise Heren says that Ms. Borrallo’s childcare training will help little George and Charlotte grow up joyfully.

Maybe a lot of moms would be happy to have a graduate from Norland College for a nanny while attending tea parties...

6 Cher

It’s not only about nannies, though. Maybe Cher is not a member of the royal family but she has it all: elegance, beauty, and of course, glamour. Not surprisingly, Cher is still loved by many. She is not only a wonderful singer but a fabulous mother. Her children, Chaz Bono and Elijah Blue Allman, should be proud of Cher’s talent, the Goddess of Pop.

Is talent enough? Well, maybe Cher would love to “Turn Back Time” and raise her sons in a different way. Her son Elijah Blue says that his relationship with his mom has always suffered: she wasn’t there to help him with his heroin addiction or to congratulate him for his engagement. Once he even tweeted, "Me and my fiancée were not invited to the Malibu house for Christmas."

At least Cher is understanding. After a lot of difficulties, Cher supported her child Chaz Bono during his journey of a transgender man. She tried all she could to raise her children.

5 Nuala Barton

Well, we can only assume that the famous film producer Nuala Barton was too scared to admit she needed some support while raising Mischa Barton.

Mischa Barton is well known for her role in “The O.C.”. Just like the show “Sex and the City”, “The O.C.” was a popular TV Drama in the early 2000s.

However, what seemed to be a great mother-daughter relationship turned into a disaster. Mischa even tried to sue her mom over money and their house.

As an insider reveals, "Nuala successfully managed Mischa’s career for a number of years. However, they got into a dispute over her finances and the Beverly Hills mansion they jointly owned. Things got so bad Mischa was locked out of the property and had to lodge legal papers against her mother after she blocked the proposed sale." So sad; was Nuala was just trying to raise Mischa properly?

4 Beverle Buell

Beverle Buell or Bebe Buell is a model and “Playboy magazine’s November 1974 Playmate of the Month.” She is the sexy mom of lovely Liv Taylor. Although Bebe Buell was very young when she had Liv, we can’t say she didn’t raise her. We just have to mention the men that influenced Liv’s life.

Bebe didn’t reveal who the biological father was as she was fearful of Steve’s drug problems. Liv was 9 when she found out. As the gorgeous actress said on The Jonathan Ross Show: "I kind of figured it out because he looked exactly like me and I have a sister named Mia who is a year younger than me and I saw her standing at the side of the stage at a concert and I was literally like looking at my twin." However, Liv often says that she still considers Todd Rundgren, the person who Bebe was officially in a relationship with at the time of Liv’s birth, as her father.

Well, Bebe raised a lovely daughter who is now a mom of three, Milo, Sailor, and Lula.

3 Linda Carroll

Linda Carroll is another famous mom who gave birth to a celebrity. Linda is a popular therapist with an interesting personal story. She is also a mom of five, and her first one is the provocative singer Courtney Love.

Linda was only 16 when she gave birth to Courtney and she struggled while raising her first daughter. In Psychology Today, Linda reveals how difficult it is for a person to experience family problems. It’s not only her broken relationship with Courtney, though. Linda had a difficult childhood herself as her biological mother, the famous writer Paula Fox, gave her up at birth.

Maybe her personal emotional pains and insecurity influenced Carroll’s career as a therapist and inspired her book "Her Mother’s Daughter: A Memoir of the Mother", which describes how she couldn't raise her kid.

2 Cheyenne Brando

In fact, people say that Linda’s mother, Paula Fox, lived under the roof of the beautiful actress Stella Adler, just like Marlon Brando.

So here we’ll talk about another celebrity from the past. Cheyenne Brando is the gorgeous but unfortunate daughter of Marlon Brando who never showed any affection for his own daughter. As Chayenne revealed: “I have come to despise my father for the way he ignored me when I was a child. He came to the island maybe once a year but really didn't seem to care whether he saw me or not. He wanted us but he didn't want us.

Her troubled childhood led to some serious drug problems and a car accident, which affected her modeling career and resulted in some mental issues.

On top of that, after the murder of her love, Dag Drollet, her depression worsened and after the birth of her son, she committed suicide. All the pain and fame stopped her from raising her kid - Tuki Brando, the face of Versace menswear.

1 Gloria Vanderbilt

Going back in time and fashion, Gloria Vanderbilt is another iconic figure as she's the developer of designer blue jeans. In the beginning of the 20th century, Gloria was part of the “trial of the century”, a notorious child custody trial in which her mom and paternal aunt were fighting for Gloria and her trust fund.

Gloria has four handsome sons: Anderson Cooper, Carter Cooper, Christopher Stokowski and Leopold Stokowski. Although Gloria is a woman who many kids would be proud of, her personal life is marked by some tragedies that many families experience. One of the biggest tragedies is to have an estranged relationship with your family. Unfortunately, Gloria’s son Christopher cut off his relationship with his mom, and she couldn't raise him.

In the end, it’s true that many celebrity moms can afford nannies and glamorous lives. The truth, however, is that motherhood is difficult and everyone needs some help while raising their own kids. Maybe for celebrities is even harder as they have their personal life exposed all the time. So the grass is not always greener on the other side.
