Pregnant women are doing something incredibly miraculous by creating a whole new being inside their bodies. But, it seems that their changing bodies - even though they're doing exactly what they're supposed to - makes them extremely vulnerable to body shaming, even by other women.

Celebs are constantly in the spotlight, making their pregnancies even more out in the open than "regular" women. "Eat a sandwich." "Put that belly away." "Cover your beer belly." These are all phrases that some of the most beautiful celebrity women in Hollywood have heard while being pregnant. It should be one of the happiest times in their lives, yet they're just as susceptible to body shaming as they were before their pregnancies.

Body shaming for any woman is all too real. In a study conducted by Dove, 89% of Australian women confessed that they have canceled plans - even job interviews - because of how they thought they looked. According to DoSomething.org, 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies, much of which comes from shaming and trying to live up to unrealistic standards set by the media.

It's even worse when pregnant women feel pressure to look a certain way as they take care of their growing humans inside their bodies. These celeb women have faced some of the toughest criticism over their pregnant bods, both from critics and those who claim to be their "fans."

15 Kim Gained Too Much Weight

It's no secret that Kim K. wasn't a big fan of pregnancy (hence why she and Kanye have sought out a surrogate for their third child). She had several complications and her body seemed to fight against her throughout both of her pregnancies. She also gained a lot of weight with each of her kiddos, and Kim was put through the shredder in some extremely harsh online comments about her pregnancy body and fashion choices.

Kim has spoken out about some of the shaming she received, and during her 1st pregnancy, she said that it made her extremely "insecure, so I have tried to avoid the limelight more [during pregnancy]." During her 2nd pregnancy, Kim said, "First they say I'm too skinny so I have to be faking it...Now they say I'm too big so I have to be faking it...SMH!"

14 Kate's Too Skinny

Kate Middleton was, perhaps, one of the most gorgeous, glowing pregnant women ever to hop on board the baby train. It's hard to believe she received criticism over her adorable pregnant bod, but even the future queen wasn't exempt from harsh words. Kate had a difficult pregnancy with her first child, suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition that made her extremely sick. Think all day, every day morning sickness. She, therefore, lost some weight in the beginning of her pregnancy before gaining it.

It didn't take long for critics to say she looked "sickly" and "too skinny" to be carrying a healthy baby. In fact, her body was doing just what it needed to do, and so was she. Kate was under the care of her medical team throughout the pregnancy and had a very healthy baby - and looked incredible the whole time.

13 Hayden Packed On The Pounds

The beautiful Hayden Panettiere was pregnant back in 2014. While on vacation, the paparazzi got several shots of her in a bikini when she was 8 months along. We all know that, at 8 months pregnant, most bellies aren't very small, and every woman carries differently, anyway. Yet, the world seemed to go crazy with these photos, calling Hayden everything from a "whale" to "GIANT." Because, you know, that's definitely going to help a pregnant woman's self esteem?

Hayden became the brunt of some intense body-bashers online. She confessed that she did gain more than the recommended amount of weight for a pregnancy - about 40 pounds - but so do many other women, and it's nothing to be ashamed of. And, more recently, Hayden's opened up about her post-partum depression - something everyone should take into account the next time they consider bashing a pregnant body.

12 Beyoncé's Only Having One?

Nope, even Queen B. couldn't stand a chance against body shamers when she was pregnant with her first baby, Blue Ivy. Although we think Beyoncé was one of the most stunning pregnant women ever, she, too, received her share of backlash against her pregnant body. Beyoncé did have the usual shamers on social media who would post silly comments about her size on Instagram photos and the like, saying things like, "Does she really only have one in there?" But the worst actually came from a "news" article focusing on B's 57-pound weight gain.

The article was all about celebs who "took eating for two to heart." Come again? Pregnant women do have the responsibility of nourishing a growing baby, and what they eat really isn't any of our business. Beyoncé's pregnancy looked great on her, she had a healthy baby, and she stayed healthy, so that's really all that matters.

11 Jaime Doesn't Eat Enough

Jaime King does have a tiny frame; that's just the way her body is. So, it's no wonder that she carries differently than other women. When she was pregnant with her second baby in 2015, Jaime posted a topless photo of her pregnant body to Instagram, showing off her adorable baby belly. It didn't stay up long - she claims her one-year-old son deleted it - but it didn't take long for people to call her "too skinny" and tell her she needs to "eat a sandwich." Because, you know, everyone knows her whole life story from one picture, right?

Jaime said about the photo and previous critiques about her pregnancy body: "I was so tired of the body shaming. I have been thin my whole life. It’s the way that I’ve always been. I eat cheeseburgers and then I drink green juice. I eat all the time."

10 Jessica's Double Shaming

Jessica Simpson appeared in the same body-bashing article as Beyoncé. Jessica became a mom for the first time in 2012 with her daughter, and then had her son just over a year later. Her back to back pregnancies of course led to a rapidly-changing body, and Jessica received some crazy criticism over her larger pregnant frame - and got a double-dose of it since her pregnancies were so close together.

People even had the nerve to say that Jessica "let herself go," as if gaining weight during a pregnancy is something that only happens to people who don't care about their bodies. News flash: it's actually what's supposed to happen. Jessica admitted to gaining about 40 pounds with her first baby, and less than that with her 2nd, but she was so tiny pre-pregnancy that it looked like much more. Regardless, back away shamers, people are trying to grow babies here.

9 Chrissy's Too Big For One

Not long after Chrissy Teigen announced her pregnancy on social media in 2015, she posted a picture of her adorable baby bump. What should have been a fun time of "Awww" and "Congrats!" turned into a social media nightmare for Chrissy, who took a break from tweeting about anything pregnancy-related for a while.

Her adorable photo was met with critiques about her being "too big" to just be carrying one baby. Although she conceived through IVF, she explained several times that there's definitely only one baby. Still, one person said, "Uh @ChrissyTeigen from the looks of that bump, I think u might be expecting twins!! Isn’t it kinda early to be already shown like that?" and many others felt as though it was their place to say her bumps too big. Chrissy's response? "Get out of my uterus! Please stop." Agreed.

8 Elsa's Beer Belly

When Elsa Pataky walked down the red carpet at the 2014 Oscars, her body was one of the hottest topics of the night. Elsa was pregnant with twins at the time, and was quite obviously far along in the pregnancy. Unfortunately, the way her gown sat underneath her belly garnered a whole lot of negative attention she wasn’t expecting – especially from the stars of E!’s Fashion Police show.

One of them said it looked like she had a “beer belly,” while another commented that the gown was “not appropriate” for her twin-carrying belly. Even more disturbing, though, was all the jabs poked at Elsa’s body itself, instead of the gown. If you don’t like the dress, fine, hate the dress. But leave the comments about the beautiful pregnant woman and her hard-working body to yourself.

7 Kate's Cookies

Kate Hudson has always had a thin frame, so when she became pregnant (both times), it didn’t take long for people to point out how much her body was changing. Unfortunately, some websites took things way too far and completely bashed Kate’s pregnant body. One even went so far as to comment on a picture that showed her walking out of a bakery holding a bunch of cookies during her second pregnancy.

The article said, “remember what happened last time?”, referencing the weight that Kate put on during her first pregnancy and taking a jab at the fact that she likes to indulge in sweets while pregnant (don’t we all?). It’s one thing when people make snide comments on social media, but it’s a whole different ball game when pregnant celebs get completely bashed in trashy blog posts.

6 Coco's Tiny Tummy

Many people were in awe of Coco Austin’s amazing pregnancy figure in 2015. The then-36-year-old looked incredible, with an adorable baby belly and all her curves in the right places. She looked healthy, fit, and loved her body. She admittedly gained only 13 pounds during the pregnancy, which is lower than the average weight gain, but her baby girl was born completely healthy.

Still, critics claimed that Coco was way too skinny to have a healthy pregnancy, insisting that she was starving her baby just so she could maintain her awesome figure. Instead, she said that she actually lost some weight in the beginning of her pregnancy since she cut off alcohol as soon as she learned she was pregnant. So, at least she definitely has a positive reason for weight loss!

5 Sarah's Food Baby

Sarah Stage is another celeb who got skinny-shamed when she was pregnant, proving that the ridiculous body shamers of the world don’t go easy on the thinner pregnant celebs. The model was 8 months pregnant with her baby when she saw the brunt of criticism over her small baby belly, which critics believed should be much bigger than it was. Because they’re doctors and all, right?

When Sarah posted a photo of herself on Instagram showing her dressed in only a bra and panties and leaving her baby belly exposed, people were quick to pass harsh judgment, saying she was way too skinny and must only be carrying a “food baby.” One follower said, “I legit look like this right now after eating a bowl of soup.” Another told her to quit worrying so much about her look and focus on keeping her baby healthy. Cue the eye rolls, please.

4 Serena's Too Naked

Tennis star, Serena Williams, recently posed for the cover of Vanity Fair, looking ridiculously gorgeous with her pregnant body and glowing skin. Unfortunately, the amount of backlash she received is a reminder to all how bad pregnancy body shaming really is. While most of us see this photo as empowering, courageous, and mind-blowingly beautiful, others took it as an opportunity to call Serena "trashy" and say it revealed "too much information."

One critic even said, "I am so over photos of naked pregnant women," as if to imply that non-pregnant women would be just fine? Fortunately, for all the negative attention the photo received, Serena was welcomed with plenty of good vibes - way more than critiques - from her fans who couldn't get over her stunning, athletic, pregnant physique. You go, girl!

3 Jenny's 80-Pound Gain

Jenny McCarthy had always been known as one of the biggest sex symbols in Hollywood since she started her career, posing for Playboy and making guys drool. But, it’s this sex symbolism that perhaps brought out some of her biggest critiques when she became pregnant with her now 15-year-old son, Evan.

It’s been reported that she gained a total of about 80 pounds during her pregnancy, and people were quick to point out that it was easy to see. In the same article that bashed Jessica Simpson and Beyoncé, Jenny also got some harsh words thrown her way. The article says that her pregnancy weight of 211 was enough to “qualify for the ‘Heavyweight’ class in MMA fighting.” Because that’s exactly what women need to hear to feel great about their pregnancy bods.

2 Leah's Body Backlash

Leah Remini is known as a funny girl, so it’s no surprise that she’s poked fun at her own pregnancy weight from time to time, calling herself “chubby” and making note of her stretch marks. But, some of the online backlash and comments in tabloids about her pregnancy weight gain were outright cruel.

Leah told PEOPLE in response to some of the comments, “no one wanted to talk about how I actually did lose the weight, just that I got fat. I don’t even blame the papers. They are making money from it. But the people who are buying it?” Leah went on to say that she doesn’t understand why people are so pre-occupied with pregnancy bodies and post-baby bodies, and she thinks the whole fascination is “silly.” We agree, girl.

1 Blac Chyna's Haters

Blac Chyna has certainly been in the public eye a lot since getting together…and breaking up…and getting back together…and breaking up again with Rob Kardashian. But, regardless of your feelings toward her and her placement in the Kardashian family, the harsh words she received online for her pregnancy body were totally uncalled for.

On one of her Instagram photos, people called her “disgusting” and “fat,” to which she fired back: “To all you people out there with negative comments and insecure words (obviously because you have nothing else to do but criticize the next), I AM HAVING A BABY! Exactly what do you expect to see?! If I walked out in makeup and heels everyday to be beautiful to your means, I WOULD BE MISERABLE AND UNHAPPY, which are two vibes I refuse to transfer to my little one.” Truer words couldn’t be spoken.
