We all know that without the participation of Dad we’d never be Moms in the first place. But that doesn’t stop us from totally treating Dad like bumbling idiots who can’t seem to figure out how to dress the baby. And maybe that’s true for a lot of Dads. Their attention to detail isn’t as precise as Mom or else they just place value on completely different things. Those Dads are mocked and ridiculed to no end for the mistakes and crazy things they do and say. But often we put so much focus on the bad Dad that we spend no time focusing on the amazing Dads. The Dads who go far above for their children and family. The Dad’s who are just extra as f…well you know what I’m trying to say.

I’m not talking about the Dads who like to go out in the backyard and toss around the football for a few hours or even the Dad that takes the kiddies to the park so you can take an hour nap. I’m talking about the Dad who builds amazing wheelchairs for their disabled boys or the Dad who showed up to school with wet pants so their little girl didn’t feel embarrassed.

In case you haven’t checked out a calendar lately we are about a month away from Father’s Day and I wanted to take a moment shine a light on those Dads who deserve something a little extra this year or something outside the traditional tie and shirt combo you were planning on buying them.

15 When This Celeb Dad Sewed A Dress For His Daughter

I’m not sure we can have a #dadgoals article without including at least one celebrity dad and what better Dad to feature than one of the sexiest Dad’s. David Beckham.

David Beckham soccer player extraordinary and H&M underwear model is Dad to 4 children that he shares with Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham. Brooklyn 18, Romeo 14, Cruz 12, and adorable 5-year-old daughter Harper.

David has shared numerous times how he loves all of his children but his daughter Harper holds a very special place in his heart (like I’m sure a lot of little girls do) and David and Victoria share all kinds of dad goal photos and stories with fans. But probably none as cute as when Victoria snapped this shot of David sewing little dresses for Harper's dolls. Sure he’s not exactly getting the design right but who cares right? He’s still pretty cute and this is still goals AF.

14 When This Dad Sat In His Son's Class

The name of the parenting game (or shame) is called "Empty Threats". I'm constantly throwing down the gauntlet on punishments I definitely don't intend to walk out. Like last week my boys wouldn't clean their room so I told them if they didn't I'd take everything out and they'd have to wear the same clothes for a week. Bet you can guess who won that.

However, 17-year-old Bradley Howard from Texas wasn't so lucky. The teen had been constantly getting into trouble during his physics class and his Dad was getting fed up with Brad being the class clown and social butterfly.

After the last call Dad received he told Brad that if they got another call from the teacher he'd come up to the class and sit next to the teen the entire class to make sure he stays focused. Unfortunately for Bradley his Dad got another call and the teen was shocked to find his Dad waiting for him in class the next day. Hopefully, for Brad, he got the message.

13 When This Dad Turned Lunch Into Art

Dad's often get a bad rap when it comes to how they feed the kids or pack their lunches. But this Dad from Oklahoma City is no slouch. Beau has put all Dad’s on notice when it comes to packing lunches for their kids. Beau has been featured all over the web and on TV shows like Good Morning America and The Steve Harvey show for his impressive lunch making skills. He makes really impressive lunches for his kid's ages 9, 5, and 2.

Like the iPhone lunch where he turned his kids sandwich into a phone complete with a blueberry and banana app store. Some of his other popular lunches are the Back to the Future II Bento box lunch and if your kid loves Star Wars he’s got 10 really cool ideas to add to your lunchtime arsenal. So the next time your husband thinks he can just toss a PB&J in a brown paper bag send him to Lunchbox Dad for some ideas.

12 When This Dad Sent His Dog Flowers

Lily Cardone and her family went viral when her Dad went way out of his way for the family dog Sebastian. Sebastian is a 10-year-old dog that has been with the family since he was 9 months old. To Lily, the dog is like a brother, but it’s her Dad who really has the special connection with him. The two are inseparable best friends. So it’s only natural that when your best friend has ACL surgery you make sure you let them know you care and are thinking of them. And that’s exactly what Mr. Cardone did. He sent Sebastian a beautiful flower arrangement.

However, when the flowers arrived Lily’s mom of course assumed that they were for her. See her Dad isn’t just an expert at romancing the dog he’s also really great about making sure the human in his life feels special. But instead of getting angry, Mom found the whole thing hilarious and posted a photo of the colorful roses, along with the card that read “Sebastian, Feel better, you’ll be back in the game very soon. Love, Daddy,” and the people on the web were completely inspired by this tail of true love.

11 When This Dad Dressed Up As Elsa

Only an act of true love is what this next story is about. Devoted dad Rob Chillingworth proved just that when he dressed up as Elsa.

Rob, a bearded tattoo artist from England was accompanying his daughter Ruby to a Frozen sing-a-long. Ruby and the other children were supposed to dress in character and Ruby decided to go as Olaf the lovable snowman from the animated Disney favorite. Naturally, Rob assumed that adults were supposed to dress up too.

Because his frame wasn't the typical "Elsa" frame he had to have his dress custom made and they totally nailed the look down to his blonde tresses. Rob and his daughter took the train to the show where a fellow rider took his photo and after 1.5 million views was dubbed "father of the year". Way to go Rob!

10 When This Dad Took On Breastfeeding

They tell us to exclusively breastfed because it’s best for baby and to be very cautious when you introduce any other nipple other than your God given Mom nipple. But what they don’t tell you is when you follow those instructions to the letter you may wind up with a baby who won’t take any kind of nipple ever, leaving you permanently attached to this kid for at least a good year and in my case longer.

That’s exactly the place that Chris Allen found himself in when his fiancée Jennifer had to return to work. Up until that point Jennifer had been exclusively breastfeeding their child, but when Dad had to step in with a bottle, things got tricky.

That’s when Chris decided to get clever and cut a hole in his t-shirt and stick a bottle in it to fool his baby. And it worked! Now I’m weaning my 18-month-old this month…I wonder if she’s still gullible enough to fall for my husband putting a Slurpee in his shirt or something.

9 When This Dad Became A YouTube Sensation

YouTube makeup artist are all the rage right now. And 13-year-old Megan Michell is now part of the viral club all thanks to her Dad.

The pint-sized beauty vlogger decided to start a YouTube channel to share her passion of makeup with her family and friends. Megan says she had seen other beauty tubers use their husbands before to narrate them applying makeup and decided that her acting and voiceover loving Dad would be great at it and she was right.

The whole video is true Dad joke style and it's hilarious. He refers to her E.L.F primer as being made from the "sweat of elves" and totally nails how expensive and wasteful the Naked Pallet is when you only really use three colors.

After being online only a few days the video quickly went viral with over 30 million views and people falling in love with the hilarious Dad.

8 When This Dad Wet His Pants

Ben Soward an amazing father of 11, four of which are foster kids, got a call from his six-year-old daughter Valerie’s elementary school. The secretary was calling to tell Ben that his daughter had wet her pants at school and he needed to come and pick her up.

Before leaving to head to the school Ben decided that he didn’t want his daughter to face the shame and embarrassment alone and decided to wet his own pants with water so he also looked like he had a bathroom accident. His seventeen-year-old daughter Lucinda was there to capture the entire moment. When Ben arrived to pick Valerie up he was met with a solemn little girl with her jacket tied around her waist. He quickly told her he had also had an accident and need to borrow her backpack. Then the two made a quick exit.

What neither Dad or daughter expected was that after Lucinda posted the photo to social media they would go viral. Many people from around the globe wrote in to praise the Dad at the unique way he supported his daughter.

7 When This Dad Revamped His Son's Wheelchairs

Ryan and Lana Weimer have not had an easy road thus far. The family has 2 children that they are raising, nine-year-old Keaton and two-year-old Bryce. Both boys have spinal muscular atrophy which is a rare kind of muscular dystrophy. In addition, they had two children pass away. A daughter Addison who lived with the same genetic condition and died in 2011 just a few days before turning three and another son named Eston who died at childbirth.

Because children who have spinal muscular atrophy don’t live past their teens Dad Ryan says he does everything he possibly can to give his children the best life. One of the things he does is invest hundreds of dollars every year and tons of energy into Halloween costumes for his boys.

In 2008 he started when he created a three-dimensional pirate ship that went around Keaton’s wheelchair, after that in 2009 was an elephant and then a dinosaur the following year. Each year the costumes have gotten more and more elaborate. After his son requested the character Toothless from “How to Train Your Dragon” 2014 he decided to create a Kickstarter campaign to offset the cost of the elaborate costumes. Before the deadline of his campaign, Ryan was able to raise $6,454 in donations far exceeding his $1,500 goal.

Ryan has gone on to start the non-profit Magic Wheelchair which helps to create costumes for other children.

6 When This Dad Recreated Blockbusters

For children and teens who are living with autism, the routine is a major part of keeping their world balanced. None know this better than the Zuniga family in Texas. Their 20-year-old son Hector is autistic and one of his favorite things to do is take weekly trips to Blockbuster.

For the past seven years visiting the local blockbuster was Hector's lifeline and anchor. When his family found out that the local store would be closing at the end of April the family started making a plan to make sure the teen could still keep his routine together. Hector Sr. created a Blockbuster movie rack for his son stocked with all his favorite DVDs.

Planning for the worse, they were relieved when their son immediately begins smiling from ear-to-ear. Younger brother Javier posted the photos to social media and people were touched by this Dad’s dedication to his son. One Twitter user even offered some old badges for Hector. For Hector Sr. the biggest moment was allowing his son the opportunity to be center stage.

5 When This Dad Supported His Daughter

The current state of our world right now has a lot of people on edge and scared about what our future looks like. For some people, the political climate has emboldened them to say or do things they may not otherwise say if someone else was in charge.

Lamyaa a 17-year-old Muslim from Pennsylvania is part of an active group chat where they discuss all of the political happenings. In one particular chat Lamyaa identified herself as a Muslim woman and when she did another group chatter immediately attacked her and told her she should stop defending Muslims when they wouldn’t even allow her to take off her Hijab “or her Dad would beat her”.

Lamyaa took that opportunity to send her father, who is living in Saudi Arabia, a text to gage his reaction. Her father responded by saying “If it’s what you feel like you want to do, go ahead. I’ll support you no matter what”. Lamyaa shared her text from her father to Twitter and got massive retweets. The internet was in love with how this father was supporting his daughter.

4 When This Dad Made "Mad Max" Mobiles

Pinterest is full of ways to upcycle kids toys and taking plain Little Tykes kitchens and turning them into something you’d hope come in adult size. One of the most popular children’s item to upcycle are Cozy Coupes. You know the traditional big red and yellow push car that is a staple in every toddler’s garage.

California Dad Ian Pfaff received a used Cozy Coupe for his 2-year-old daughter Junior and decided to transform the generic car into an epic “Mad Max” themed car. Around the time that he received the car his wife was also getting rid of her old breast pump. The old breast pump plus a box of old junk was used to turn his favorite childhood movie into an epic toy car for his daughter.

A few months later he found another used Cozy Coupe and decided to transform that as well for his 5-month old son Benji. Mom Emily even made a coordinating outfit for Junior and a “post-apocalyptic sippy cup”. Junior apparently loves her car because she’s been caught kissing the skull steering wheel multiple times.

3 When This Dad Became A Life-Size Elf

If you're a parent of young children you're probably familiar with Elf on the Shelf. The idea behind the Christmas Elf is that Santa sends each child a special Elf to watch over them during the holiday season and report back to Santa whether they should land on the good list or the naughty list.

Each night the parents are supposed to move the elf to make it seem like he's magically flittering around the house watching. So imagine if you and your children show up to the elementary school and a giant Elf like the one you have at home is waiting atop the school.

That's what happened to students at a West Virginia school one morning. Shawn Adkins a fellow parent at the school surprised the students at Lavalette Elementary School by dressing as a bearded Elf on the shelf. Shawn said that the giant smiles on the children's faces made his day and he plans on doing this every year!

2 When This Dad Advocated For His Son's Rights

When Geoff Thomas’ son Nathan came out to him 12 years ago he had a lot of soul searching to do about how he felt about homosexuality. Geoff spent nine years in the army and was a Vietnam veteran. He says he was just conditioned to be homophobic. But once his son came out he had to figure out why he didn’t like gays.

What he realized was that it was just fear and ignorance. And when he realized that his son didn’t even have the same legal benefits he became a strong advocate for marriage equality. He shared his views about gay marriage with anyone who would listen and his tag line became “Every man and his dog supports marriage equality.” and out of that was born an idea.

In April 2017 Geoff took a trip through Australia in his rainbow decorated car with his new slogan! His goal is to educate people about gay marriage. He says that this isn’t a religious issue but a civil rights one that every person deserves to have. Peak supportive Dad goals right there!

1 When This Dad Designed Disney Costumes

When couture fashion designer Nephi Garcia started his family he decided to leave the world of fashion and work a retail job. He eventually lost that job which caused his family to not only lose their house but to also be homeless for nearly a week. One day the family took a trip to Disneyland and he made his daughter a fairy godmother dress.

The dress got a lot of attention and other families started inquiring about how they could get some for their children. There at Disneyland Nephi started a social media account and people immediately took notice and started hiring him. Nephi’s costumes are completely accurate, with the Cinderella wedding gown having two birds holding up the veil. Nephi says it takes him about 6 hours to create the costumes.

His most complicated design came when his daughter requested a Belle dress that transformed from the blue peasant dress into the yellow ball gown. After 3 days Nephi finally figured it out! Now Nephi has taken what was just a fun family past time and turned it into a successful business which has him booking out for a year and a half!
