Celebrities lead such extravagant lifestyles that people often forget, or don’t even notice, the fact that they do some of the same activities that every day, regular people do. Such as taking their kids to the park, running to a convenience store, or even just yelling at their kids when they misbehave. It’s hard to keep in mind that celebs can be like everyone else, especially when they typically earn more money in one year than most people can make in a lifetime. Parenting is hard in itself, no matter who you are or what social standing you come from. Celebrity dads and the average, everyday dads go through the same things. They still go through their wives cursing their names in the delivery rooms, their rounds of diaper duty, their kids screaming and crying, and having to clean up mess after mess.

The only major difference between the everyday dads and the celebrity dads is that not only do they have to shield their children from the typical dangers in life, but they also have to shield them from their obsessive fans and the paparazzi as well. A lot of celeb dads try to keep it real with their kids, like taking them trick-or-treating, taking them to the beach, or on hikes. Things that you would expect any good dad to do with their children. However, there will still always be those questionable dads around as well, the ones that are never there for their kids.

Here are 15 Times Celeb Dads Got WAY Too Real For Hollywood.

15 Alec Baldwin

Alec Baldwin got real AF back in 2007 when he became enraged with his then 11-year-old daughter Ireland. Alec and his daughter had a planned phone call, and when she did not answer he got beyond angry and left her possibly the worst voicemail you could leave someone that young. He called her a pig, he told her she was thoughtless, he was bashing her mother and he had told her that she made him feel like crap. Alec said plenty of other things too.

The voicemail tape was played for a judge and Alec was temporarily banned from being able to see, and even talk to, his own daughter for a little while. Eventually, Alec realized that maybe his choice of words was a little too harsh for someone his daughter’s age and he made a public apology. Alec wasn’t the first dad to get real with his child, and he won’t be the last.

14 Channing Tatum

Channing Tatum got real, but real sweet, when he admitted to the main goal that he wants out of life for his daughter, Everly. All he really wants for her is for her to not be afraid to be her genuine self and, to be her true self. Channing said that when he fell in love with his wife, Jenna, it was because she was her genuine self and he wants the same thing in life for his daughter.

Channing also wants his daughter to be able to ask herself what she wants and to just feel like she can go for what she wants. What father would not want their daughter to just be themselves and just reach for the stars and achieve their goals in life?

13 Ashton Kutcher

When Ashton Kutcher received the Robert D. Ray Pillar of Character Award from Duke University for his good character, he got real AF when he started talking about how his two young kids, Wyatt and Dimitri, showed him what building great character truly meant. Ashton also mentioned about how he wanted to call his parents because, until he had children of his own, he never understood how much his own parents loved him. That tends to be true a lot of the time.

There are many people who cannot fully understand the full capabilities of love until they have children of their own. Ashton also mentions at another time that having kids is infinitely rewarding.

12 Will Smith

Will Smith openly gets real AF a lot about being an A-list celeb dad. Even back in 2016, when his son Jaden turned 18, Will said that he was still trying to figure out the whole parenthood thing. Being a parent never comes easily. There is no instruction manual that states exactly how to raise children so it is all guess work. Will has also said before, that parenting is kind of like a hit or miss thing.

Will has always been real AF when it comes to being a Hollywood dad. He does things his way, and he will always call it how he sees it and not care what anyone thinks of the way he does things. For example, he had mentioned that he does not use punishment with his kids and got criticized for it but that didn’t change his perspective on things because he still raised his family the way he saw fit.

11 Ryan Phillippe

Ryan Phillippe got real when he discussed sharing his kids with his ex-wife, Reese Witherspoon, and talked about how it’s not really about him and her and how they feel, it’s about the kids. When parents are divorced, it should be about the kids, and how the kids are feeling and their general welfare. It doesn’t matter that the parents can no longer stand one another. It is not the children’s fault, and Ryan goes on to explain this.

He said that between him and Reese, they split the holidays. One Christmas the kids will be with him, then the next they will be with her. There is no fighting involved, and that is exactly how things should be.

10 Kanye West

Kanye West got real AF in an interview after his daughter was born and he started talking about how everything felt brand new to him. He mentioned how there are certain things that he gets, and other things that he still don’t understand as of yet, but that when you talk about the subject of love he cannot give you a definitive answer. He can only say that he is glad that he has it. Kanye also said that he makes him want to rethink about the way he does his music.

Nobody really takes Kanye for one to second guess himself, so becoming a father has brought Kanye to a whole new world. He also mentions how happy he is to have his wife and kids.

9 Justin Timberlake

Justin Timberlake got real and opened up about his struggles of being a new father for the first 8 months of his son’s life, and although it is still a struggle for him things have gotten a little easier. When people ask Justin if he wants his son to follow in his footsteps, and become a big star he confesses that he does not know the answer to that question yet. Justin jokes that if his son Silas would really want to become famous one day that he could teach his son what not to do.

Justin also mentions that when his son was born it was like opening up a wound and that it brought back memories of childhood trauma for Justin regarding his parent's divorce.

8 Ryan Reynolds

When Ryan Reynolds first became a father back in 2015, he got real  when he opened up about becoming a first-time dad. He said that the best kind of advice he could give other new parents was not to follow advice because there is nothing that you would be able to do to prepare yourself for it anyway. He said that he was shocked by the amount of patience that he seemed to have. He did the dad thing and changed diapers, and even got up at 4 in the morning.

These days, Ryan surprised everyone by saying that he wants more daughters and by more, he’s talking around nine. He said that he grew up in a house full of men so the change to being in a house full of women is welcoming.

7 Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt got real when he opened up about how he wants to be a better father towards the kids he has with his soon-to-be-ex wife Angelina Jolie. He mentions about how he always tried to put his kids first but that sometimes, like with many people, work has a tendency to get in the way. Brad said that his kids need a lot of care and attention and that he wants to try to give them more of that and basically try to put them ahead of everything else.

Brad also says that part of his upbringing was that the father was always in charge of the situations and that is how he has been with his kids. He said he wants to start straying away from that kind of mindset, and to be able to be a better father figure to them.

6 David Beckham

David Beckham got real when he opened up about him and his wife, Victoria, wanting to have children shortly after they met, and that he wanted his family to be there with him throughout his soccer career to be able to see him win his trophies. He said his family was there to see him win almost every single one of them. David also opened up and admitted that his favorite way to relax at the end of the day is to read a book to his children at the end of the night.

David is very family orientated and comes from a very strong family background. He said that his parents were good working class people, who would do anything for their children.

5 Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp gets real when he talks about having a good relationship with his kids, but that his daughter is starting to get to the age where she will start dating soon. Johnny said that girls are more complicated than boys so you have to worry about them more, and that you have to worry about some teenage boy showing up at your doorstep. Boys will answer you in simple one-word answers like yes or no, while girls will try to manipulate their fathers to whatever degree.

Whatever Johnny is feeling, it seems pretty normal that when a person’s teenage daughter hits the dating years to have worry and stress increase when you have to start watching out for raging hormones on a young lady.

4 Tom Cruise

When Tom Cruise opened up about becoming a father he got real, sharing that there was nothing like it and nothing that could describe it. He said he just wanted to give so much joy and happiness and that nothing else was more important. When he had his first daughter, Isabella, he said he would constantly check on her and he felt an instant connection with her. He said that he was probably disrupting her sleep with how much he was checking up on her. Tom had sworn to her that he would do the best he could.

Tom also said that when his other daughter, Suri, was born that she helped make him into a better man. That he wanted to be able to be something that would be able to make her happy and make her laugh.

3 Usher

Usher got real when he opened up and said that he makes sure that he is a father that is involved in his sons’ lives because his father was not involved in his life. Usher said that he takes his kids to school, that he cooks for them and helps take care of them. He wants to be the father to his kids that he never got to have. He tries to be as involved in kids’ lives as much as possible.

Usher knows that he is the only father that his sons will ever have so he vouches to be there for them and that he will not allow himself to get caught up in his own world. Sometimes it takes a lot for someone to not repeat what has been done to them personally in the past, and for this Usher deserves some real credit.

2 Eminem

There have been plenty of times Eminem got real AF when it comes to his daughter Hailie. Like in 2005, when singing a song he dedicated to her, he wore a shirt that he had made with her face printed on it and a personal message to her saying that he was proud of her. There was another time when Eminem won an Academy Award for Best Original Song and he did not even show up or watch the award show because he was watching TV with his daughter that day. Eminem has dedicated many songs to his daughter Hailie, attended her graduation and so much more.

Eminem may not always win father-of-the-year awards based upon his lyrics, but there is no doubt about how much he loves his daughter and would go to any lengths to prove that.

1 Matthew McConaughey

Matthew McConaughey got real AF when he talked about becoming a dad. He said that a man is never truly a man until he becomes a father for the first time. He said that’s when you know what is important. Matthew is the father of three children, and he said that when they have guests over and their kids are asleep they don’t even ask their guests to keep quiet because they want to expose their children to noises and sounds. He even stated that they had Brazilian music playing at the hospital for the birth of their one son.

Matthew also said that they are going to be limiting candy when it comes to their son, Levi, and are going to be switching to organic only food. They want to try to maintain a healthy environment for all of their children.
