First Trimester Checklist

If your head is spinning and you're not sure exactly where to start, here are the basic bits you need to make sure you're on track in the first trimester.

  • Select a prenatal caregiver
  • Evaluate & adjust diet to increase vitamin & mineral intake
  • Stop drinking alcohol, smoking & using any drugs
  • Maintain or begin daily physical activity to strengthen heart & improve health
  • Cut back caffeine intake to 1 cup a day or less
  • Increase water consumption
  • Go to first prenatal check-up

If you’ve got the spare time:

  • Start a pregnancy blog or journal
  • Study up on pregnancy tests
  • Get a massage
  • List favorite names for both genders
