During a normal feeding yes, but sometimes he'll get distracted or he's whiny (I think he's teething) or whatever and he'll unlatch constantly.

When he does that try taking him off (I'll push my son's cheeks together to make his mouth opem) every time. At 6 months, I think he's big enough to put 2 and 2 together that when he does that, the boob comes out. My son does this a lot too and I just take him off until he's done stretching (he usually does it when he's nodding out and starting to stretch).

Does he comfort nurse? My daughter would do that. The boob was like her security blanket and anytime she didn't feel good, she wanted boob. Since she wasn't hungry I'd swaddle her and just sung to her. It didn't work all the time, but it helped sometimes.

He never used to but I think he's been doing it lately. He always drinks, which I guess throws me off if it's comfort nursing or not :? lol

The majority of the time he'd still rather be walked around and hummed to.

He's also started full on grabbing my breast as he nurses again. Ow.

I've tried giving him my finger, a toy, a blanket, "hiding" my breast with a shirt, but he likes the skin contact and will get annoyed if I distract him.

Ugh...my 21 month old DD does this too. I'm constantly moving her hand. I can't stand it when she's trying to mess with my nipple.

He doesn't do that yet, thankfully. I don't think my poor nipples could take that lol.

OMG.. now that LO is grabbing at things. He totally grabbed and yanked my nipple the other day.

Another funny thing the other day was he was in a happy mood.. he would suck like twice literally, then pull off and laugh. then go back to it, suck twice pull off and laugh.. it was too funny.. my hubby and i died laughing.

Just curious as to how much caffeine you drink per day while BF. My LC said anything in moderation is fine. Would you say the 200 mg limit while pregnant is applicable during BF or how much less would the goal be?
I figured 2 sodas @ 46mg each would be fine. one in am and one for dinner, but DS does not sleep. Could this be the problem? I think he sleeps about 9-10 hours total a day... definitely not the 15 that the "book" says.

Does he seem content with the amount of sleep he has? My daughter didn't sleep as much as the books said she 'should' and was fine with it, a very happy and content baby! I drink too much soda.. I don't really see the effects of it on DD but I do wonder if I took a food diary if she would seem a little more wired after I've had a coke.

We've hit our 7 month today!

Also a question.

I'm getting a laparoscopic tubal on the 23rd and had a few questions concerning being put under for the procedure. Especially since my 7 month old won't take a bottle and isn't really eating real foods yet.

Will the anesthesia hurt him any? Will this affect (effect?) my supply at all? I imagine I'll go at least 4 hours without nursing him, probably more if they don't allow him with me during intake.

My mom will be there to help me with him, during and after the procedure, so that's all taken care of. I just worry how the day will go with him EBF.
Should I see if he'll take a sippy cup? Or maybe reintroduce the bottle? I don't know.

When i was put under for my wisdom teeth removal, I wasnt allowed to nurse for 48 hours after. The anesthetic wasn't safe for nursing. Check with your dr to see if that will be a concern.
