do you pump at work?

generally as long as there is SOME nursing going on daily, you should still be able to maintain some kind of supply. And if you get a chance to stay home more later in the future, then your supply should increase again if she nurses more again.

Those early days are the hardest. I know right now it seems like the difficulties go on & on, but I promise you, in hindsight you will see how short the struggle phase actually is. It only FEELS like an eternity while you are in it.

If you need hands on help, contact La Leche League 24/7 via phone at 1-877-4-la-leche & they will put you in touch with your local group as well.

If you are dealing with nipple damage make sure you are applying a nipple conditioner after EVERY feed (like Lanolin) you can use gel soothers to alleviate pain between feeds and you should give yourself as much open air time as possible. Also, make sure you are breaking suction at the corner of the mouth every time before breaking latch. That one most moms do, but once in a while you have a momma who is forgetting & that will trash your nips quickly too.

Congrats & best wishes~~~ you are doing awesome momma. Some of those early bumps are rough. It will NOT stay this hard!

Bub has started playing with my nips.

If I'm not paying attention and he unlatches, he'll flick them with his sharp little claw-nails.

Definitely doesn't feel nice

well nursing necklaces are usually adjustable, so you can make it longer or shorter depending on what you prefer and then they have something to play with or bite or pull on instead of you. I didn't use one with my first, but recently tried one with my little one and it's great for keeping him focused.
