How long after your water breaks do you go into labor or start having real contractions, normally?
What if you have a slow leak, but think it's just urine and pay it no attention, I know it's not safe, but whenwill labor or contractions start up, normally?
I know everyone is different, but I'm asking how did it go for you?
Quoting Stef [Lola's mama]:
My water didn't break until i was in active labor and my midwife was checking my dilation.
i had contractions about two hours later and after that my daughter was born 8 hrs. later
My water broke and I started having contractions within minutes after. However, no strong contractions until about 3-4 hours later and then they HURT. I had my son after after 13 hours of labor/water breaking. It was an easy labor, but it hurt.
With my first, they induced me at 41 weeks, and the pitocin didn't work so they broke my water. Contractions started immediately and I had her 3 1/2 hours later.
With my second, I didn't start having contractions until 4 days after my water broke. (But I was in the hospital on antibiotics to help prevent infection)
I thought I was leaking urine...until I noticed liquids were just gushing out everytime I got up.... that was somewhere between 12-2 in the day and I didn't give birth until 6:50am after the fact.
I went to the hospital around 3 and the contractions started becoming more consistent at around 5 or 6.
My water broke at 1:30am contractions started about 10min later and I had my son 5hrs later at 6:32am :)
