I'm in my last trimester, and I recently just caught a AWFUL cold from my daughter, runny/stuffy nose, mucus built up in the back of my throat, cough, etc. I can handle the runny/stuffy nose, but my throat is KILLING me, of all times, when i'm acturally sick, I can't find my list of meds I can take while pregnant, however it does seem like mucinex was on the list, but I want to be sure, if it isokay to take, because I don't want to harm my baby. My mother n law swears by it, I will only need to take one of two doses and I should be feeling 110x's better.

So, is mucinex safe to take while pregnant?

I FEEL YOUR PAIN! I've been sick for 2 weeks now! Anyway, my doctor said that Sudafed is okay to take. Try the cold & sinus.

No. That's one medicine my midwife said not to take. She said however that you can take sudafed pe. That it could raise your BP but won't cause any other harm on a fetus. I'm not a doctor though, so you should always ask a doctor what you can and can't take. If you have insurance, make an appointment and they will give you meds.

One thing that helps me stay clear is a nedi pot. Clears all that mucus away!

Wow! I am SO glad I decided not to take it last month when I had a sinus infection....
I actually called my OB office, and the on call nurse called me back and told me I could take it.....
I opted against it....

My midwife just called me back, and she told me it was perfectly fine to take mucinex, that it will not harm the baby.
