I just got a job interview for a program that tutors children with Autism. So, I was wondering if there are some mom's on here who either haveachild with Autism or work withchildren with Autism, willing to offer some practical advice and suggestions. I don't want to go into the interview with only book-related knowledge.

I worked at a school for children with autism for 7 years! And my 2.5 year old son was diagnosed at 20 months...

I highly recommend the book 10 things every teacher should know about autism... I think that's the name... I'm way tired but can't sleep... So I don't want to sound rediclous what do you already know and what do you want to know

The term autistic is frowned upon... It's "children with autism" or a child who has autism, don't use the term normal, but rather typically developing children.

Here is a link that kinda explains the diagnostic criteria

most kids with autism have sensory issues

I have an ECE degree and I currently work with kids who have trouble with transition in the preschool setting. I've been to many workshops through my school district. Plus my son was falsely diagnosed so I have researched.
