So i went to the doctor yesturday and my blood pressure rose something feirce. And i guess there was no protein in my urine. They were freaking out at my doc office, which got me nervous. Im going back today for an ultrasound and fetal monetering. They also took some blood so were going to discuss whats going on and some options. They also mentioned possible Toxemia.......... She put me on bed rest for the day and said i probably wont be able to work anymore. She also mentioned me being hospitalized and having an early delivery

Im freakin out, i would be ok but they were actlng like its terrible. Anyone know what i can expect?? Would i have to do a C-section is my blood pressure is high? Im 36wks today will they at least wait till im 38wks or how does that work???

I have an emergency c-section at 42 weeks because of my BP.

I had high blood pressure from week 20 on, i had to be put on medicine and then had an ultrasound and NST from 32 weeks on. I was going to have a natural birth- but needed a c section but that had nothing to do with my high blood pressure. I suppose it depends how high, and if they can lower it.

at least they cought it!
My bp rose alot, but mine started out quite low and so it wasnt above the 'normal' upper threshold they didnt do anything until my dd when i was rushed to hospital and put to sleep for en emergency c-sec. i had a clot behind my placenta and it was basically failing. i was having palipitations etc but nobody put it all together to realise what was going on.

Dont worry tho love, they are watching you closely now and theyl do everything to keep you both safe!! Good luck!

I had late term preclampsia/toxcemia and it is EXTREMLY DANGEROUS!!!!!!

If you notice your blood pressure going higher or you're starting to not feel good go to the Hospital immediatly.

The reason they are checking your blood is because they probably want to see whta your kidney and liver funtion is still like, because it can begin to fail if you have it.

They found protein in my urine and high B.P. at 39 weeks ... 4 hrs later I was having an emergency c - section.

Yes you will most definatly need a csection if you do have preclampsia/toxcemia.... you cannot handle birth nor could the baby

This is extremly dangerous for you and the bbaby,, do not take this lightly... Stay on strict bed rest until you hear from your doctor.
Since you are already full term (36 weeks) I would just ask for a csection NOW if it ends up you do have preclampsia/toxcemia otherwise you are a great risk of losing your life, and your childs.
and the only way to get rid of this disease is so have the baby
GOOD LUCK!!

i had pre e and i was induced at 36 weeks. altho they did try to let me have a vag birth i wasnt able to progress quick enough and my sons heartrate was dropping after and during each contraction. so they decided that it would be best to go ahead and have a emergancy c section. which i was scared but it was kinda a relief to because my blood pressure was up extremely high and his heartbeat was really low. i was scared that i was going to lose him and that i was going to start seizeing or haveing a stroke. its whats best for the baby... and also now im happy because im having another c section with this baby and i know when im going to have her :) april 5th and she should be here before noon at the latest!! :) i cant wait!

good luck and i hope that everything turns out well. just remember not to worry it will make your bloodpressure go up high! keep us up to date and let us know what is going on :) i will keep you in my prayers!
