if a fetus stops growing at 19 weeks...but still has a heartbeat......what is that called?? can anything be done to save the baby?....
I have never heard of this happening before. Interested in seeing what others have to say...
is it IUGR?
I'm not 100% sure?
Quoting Waitin on Peanut:
i think that may be the name....whathappens though? i know it means the baby stops growing like it should...but has beating heart...but what can be done?
I thought that usually when they stop growing they pass away unless a doctor intervenes and the baby is delivered of course they'd have to be at a gestational age of viability *unsure*
If a fetus stopped growing at 19 weeks most of the organs would not yet be functioning or fully developed so I would think that the baby would not make it.
OP if you or someone you know is going through this I'm very sorry to hear about it and I'll keep you/them in my thoughts & prayers.
Oh OP I just realized youre the same mama worried about one of your twins not growing. Stop stressing yourself out sweetie, your babies are fine :) Its common for babies to measure smaller or bigger. My dr said at 24 weeks they can measure anywehre from 3 weeks ahead to 3 weeks behind, and at 32 weeks anywhere from 2 weeks ahead to 2 weeks behind and be PERFECTLY NORMAL :)

yeah i know with twins its common to have 1 bigger 1 smaller but at only 19 weeks they said one was still measuring 18 weeks 3 days...and im confused on how a baby just stops growing for 4 days and is ok?? im so confused....
For example look at this picture. Now this is a case of twin to twin transfusion syndrome so this is not typical but your doctor would know and tell you if you had TTS
These two are (hard to believe) twins.
yeah 4 days behind isnt to bad bt then my mind starts racing wondering if i was to get another US now would it till be 18 w 3 ds....im just nevous as hell...i cant get a earlier US...i have to wait until the 8th of april....
