Have you ever heard of going into to labor when there is a full or new moon close to around your due date? My sister in law told me last night to pull up the april and may calender with the moon phases and she would predict when id go into labor. My due date is may 20th. And there was a full/new moon every day the last week of April & the first week of May.. I hope if its right it will be around the first week of may because id be around 36 weeks and the baby would be healthier. They're was also one May 13th. I was just wondering have you all heard of this, and is it true??

There's a higher incidence of spontaneous rupture of your amniotic sac 2 days before, the day of and 2 days after the full moon but the chance of it happening is still small, and some studies have shown that women whose membranes ruptured close to or during the full moon didn't have the accompanying contractions.

It is more likely for your water to break on it's own during a full moon, but that isn't going to happen just because the moon is full... your body has to be ready to go.
You aren't just going to spontaneously go into laobr just because of a full moon... there is a full moon every month. :)

i've heard of it and i think a few ladies in my due date buddy thread went around a full moon. i had my baby 3 days before the new moon so that obviously wasn't the case for me

Sorry but the moon isn't going to put you into labor, and hopefully not at 36 weeks with a preemie. Since this if your first as well I'd check what full moons are closer to 42 weeks.

I gave birth 2 weeks after the last full moon and 2 weeks before the next full moon. It's just a myth based on the fact that someone has to give birth on those days.
