DH & I went to my nephew's first birthday party Saturday and we were both appalled at what our nieces were wearing. They are 14 & 9 years old. Both had on teeny, tiny shorts with their ass cheeks hanging out. The 14 year old had on a tube top that barely kept her big b**bs in. I know they're not my kids, so I didn't say anything to my brother & his wife, but we were really grossed out that they let them out of the house looking like that.

It got us talking about child predators on the way home. No wonder there are so many older men getting arrested for soliciting minors--they don't look like minors. If I didn't know better, there is NO WAY I would have thought my nieces were as young as they are. It's almost as if they're asking for sexual attention.

Idk. I'm just really bothered by it. If I ever have a girl, I guarantee she won't be flaunting her ass at a birthday party with a bunch of grown men, or anywhere else, for that matter.

Any thoughts? Agree? Disagree?

A true child predator will go after a child no matter what they are wearing.

I think it's Trashy. IMO. I wouldn't let my kids dress like a hooker.

I saw a little girl at the park a few days ago--looked about 5 years old with a tube top and short skirt

I thinks girls that young should cover up a tad bit more. I'm 18 &don't even wear tiny ass shorts normally I wear mormon shorts. I will say I'm guilty of cleavage but its hard to cover up big b**bs when I wear a size small shirt.

It's sad how fast kids grow up these days. My daughter will hopefully learn to respect herself, because that's the example I will set. I don't think she'll want to flaunt everything, if I raise her right. (I hope, that is.)

If she wants to wear that kind revealing clothing, I won't allow it.

There's this house on the end of my street, the girls could be no older than 15, and they live with their adult boyfriends.
Anyways, I see them walking up & down the street, wearing booty shorts, cowboy boots, & tank tops.
My bestie & I saw a 12yr-old wearing stuff like that at the mall. We were both like "She is wayyyy too young to wear stuff like that!"

And ironically, I am very modest. I wear bootyshorts around the house, and never go out in public even in a tank top. I just feel exposed.

if it's your neices, i DEFINITELY would have said something. even to the girls themselves. you could've "jokingly" said "aren't you guys cold?" or something silly like that.

but i agree with this post, all the way.
