For the last couple of months, all around my belly button feels bruised. My belly button isn't protruding, it's just shallow and all the skin around it feels really soft and feels like it's bruised if you push on it. Last week I had a sonogram and she kept going over my belly button because that 's where my little ones head is at, and it sucked. Anyone elses belly button area feel bruised? I've never heard of this and was just wondering if I'mm wierd. LOL

OH my god my belly button was killing me in my second trimester ... I looked it up in my pregnancy book (Mayo Clinic) and it's your ab muscles stretching .. growing apart.
It sucks b/c the more they stretch, the more likely you are to have that flab you cannot get rid of after birth, b/c your muscles don't go back to where they were.

I never had that feeling on my belly button, but I have had that feeling on the left side of my stomach for a few months now.

I know exactly what you mean! I never experienced it with my first pregnancy but I did with my second and also this time. Mine seems to come and go so I put it down to the way the baby is laying.

i had the same exact feeling, sometimes it would be more sensitive than other times.  I asked my doctor about it and she said "it's fine, your stomach is stretching and in that particular spot (around the bellybutton) there's no muscle so its extremely sensitive, but nothing to worry about".  It felt exactly like it was bruised.  hope that helps!

Thanks for the replies. It seems to have gradually gotten better over the course of the last few weeks. Now my stomach is just hard and really sensitive. If someone touches it my skin twitches. Hopefully everything will be back to normal again soon! It's getting close! Good luck ladies!
