I recieved a letter from my bank saying $704 is being charged to my account due in insuffiecient funds from my employer. So my paycheck bounced. What should I do? I have already spent this money (and was recently fired from the same employer).
Call your bank and then call HR of the company.
You spent the money before the check cleared?
I think the only thing you could do is contact your old employer and request a money order, cashiers check or cash. I wouldn't accept a check though.
Well they owe you that money whether they fired you or not. It's the law. Call them and if they don't straighten it out then you will have to take them to court. Good luck!!!
Did they stop pay the check b/c you got fired? Was it definitely an amount they owed you?
I'd be raising hell right now, you earned that money and they cant stop payment on that. I'd probably look into a free consultation with a lawyer to see what you can do legally to get that money.
This was from my payday on the 10th of April. hell yeah I already spent the money. I didn't f**king expect it to bounce. it's a paycheck. Anyway, obviously I will have to pay for the bounced check. Which I am not responsible for.
