My 11 month old is running a fever. I edited the post from when I posted this earlier, when she had a fever of 101.5... but it's risen to 102.7. I have given her another round of Tylenol... but not helping yet. She's really grumpy. Should I take her in to see the pediatrician or wait it out?

If tylonel or motrin does not bring it down, then you prob should take her in. We took our daughter in when she had a 103 temp. Once after that she had a 101-102 temp but we could bring it down with tylonel and didnt have to take her in

If she's still hot after the medicine, take her in -- especially if she isn't drinking anything. They get dehydrated so quickly.

Adrianna got her first real fever right after her first birthday. My doctor told me not to even call her if it didn't get higher than 103.

Fevers are your friend. It means their body is fighting an infection. Give them a little bit of tylenol, don't dress them too warmly, and keep them hydrated.

tylenol can make it go up before it goes down. give her a luke warm bath and dont dress her to warm. maybe teething.

give her a lukewarm bath and keep her in cool clothes...maybe even just in her diaper...if the temp cannot be broken by these things and the tylenol you may want to give your pedi a call

Does she have any other symptoms? If it's just a fever, it's really nothing to worry about, unless she's lethargic, or has other major symptoms.

If the tylenol doesn't bring it down, then try a lukewarm bath.

If it keeps getting higher, then call your doc.

Well, she's in her diaper. She is drinking a little bit, I'm having to almost force her to though. She's not very interested. She didn't sleep all night, but she wasn't running a fever til this morning. I had to hold her for an hour in the middle of the night to get her to sleep.... and then when she woke me up screaming at 9am this morning, she was soaked in sweat and hot as hell. I of course, stripped her and took her into my bedroom (there's a better fan in there) and we laid on my bed and I gave her some Tylenol.

Now, she's walking around and sort of playing, but she's being really grumpy.

I'm about to take her temperature again, because she feels so hot to me.

ive had bad experiences with docs. caiden had 104.5 and we couldnt bring it down and doctors just kept sending us home blowing us off not even really checking him out....3 days and 4 doc visits later he had a febrile siezure. it wasnt til then anyone took us seriously. so good luck to you. thats not a very high fever for little ones as other mamas have said.

Thanks for the advice mommas. I gave her a nice warm bath, some Tylenol, and ended up rocking her til she fell asleep sweating on my shoulder. We got in about another of sleep... now she's up for the day, but seems to be feeling better. Still hot though.

I know 101.5 isn't much of a fever, but like I said, she's 11 months old and has never, ever had a fever before (that I knew of) so it scared me.

Nevermind. SO took her to the Med Center to get checked out, just to be safe.
