What are jelly babys??
Quoting Mrs Bill Compton:
Jelly Baby Month is a fund-raising initiative held every May in Australia and staged by JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
Both corporate sponsors and volunteers sell Jelly Baby Merchandise throughout the month of May, and the state branches of JDRF promote their cause - which is to find a cure for Type 1 Diabetes.
People can also donate to JDRF or hold their own fundraisers during the month of May. In 2013 a new Jelly Baby project called "JELLY BABY SONG" was born where people can visit www.jellybabysong.com and download the single, with proceeds going to JDRF.
A Jelly Baby is a glucose sweet (not unlike a Gummy Bear) available in Australia & the UK and is the mascot for Jelly Baby Month.
