Early loss of (partial) mucus plug Idlehands 2 kids; Perth, Australia 6121 posts

On Thursday morning I was sitting in my dressing gown, when I stood up a streaky, snot like blob fell out of me. It was approx bigger than a 10c piece (Aus), and completely different to normal vaginal discharge or build up. My doctor informed me it was part of my mucus plug which would regenerate since it is fairly early in my pregnancy (I'm 17 weeks). So he felt there was no need to stress... but still, gross huh?! (I never had this happen, to my knowledge, during my last pregnancy with my my son, as I was induced).

So I was just wondering if this has happened to any one else?

Your mucus plug isn't destined to fall out at the end of pregnancy., but most do. Think of it as a big vaginal booger. Your nose constantly produces snot... you'll constantly produce mucus while pregnant. You can lose big pieces and it will still regenerate.
