Quoting ~Lady C~:" this post made me feel a lot better! im very overweight and have a lot of worries but my main one is ... [snip!] ... that overweight people tend to have more issues than average weight people. has any of you plus size mothers had a c-section?"

Just because you're overweight doesn't mean you will definitely have more problems during your pregnancy/delivery. For example:
My first pregnancy: I was 265lbs, had severe hyperemesis gravidarum from week 9 to 16, along with a subchorionic hemorrhage from week 6-10. I lost 35 pounds (got down to at least 230!), and then I developed gestational diabeties, and pre-e. I had to be induced a week early, but because my cervix had to be forcably softened, my labor was 28 hours long (2.5 hours of pushing ), and I almost had to have an emergency c-section because she got stuck and both of our heart rates and blood pressures dropped. But I finally pushed her out!
My pregnancy with her suuuuuuuuucked.
Now, here I am pregnant with #2. I am 3 years older. I started out at 290lbs, dropped down to 270 in the first trimester and have maintained that weight. So I'm still 40 pounds heavier than last time. And I have had ZERO complications. No GD, no high BP or Pre-e, nothing.
Every pregnancy is different! I wouldn't be worried about getting a c-section, until you get to the very end and your doctor says otherwise (there should definitely be a medical reason).

Yeah, it is harder on your heart (body!) while you're pregnant. Just drink crazy amounts of water if you can stand it, and stay away from caffeine. And the laying on your left side thing really does work wonders! lol

Hello My name is Elaina I also am plus size, this is my 4th pregnancy but only count three because my first pregnancy was due to incest, my 2nd pregnancy my daughter was born stillborn, so my 3rd pregnancy was considered high risk because of the previous one, I have been 220lbs for the longest time with my 3rd pregnancy I gained 20lbs my daughter is now 4 i had hoped to lose at least 75lbs but im still the same weight, I just found out I am 6 weeks pregnant, I have so many things I am worried about because of the stillbirth, my weight and age. I am very happy to be pregnant and I know god picks the special ones to carry his babies:D

Mmhmm! Coffee works faster than soda so if I'm having issues have coffee and bam! Haha

Ok so... I had gained 5lbs as of my 11 week appointment but now at 14weeks I've lost all the weight again. It's a little confusing! Although I'm glad I've lost it again since they said they only wanted me to gain 10 the whole pregnancy lol so still have 10 to go hopefully it'll slowly go! Lol

Also congrats on the baby!

It was funny... my last appointment (a week ago) my nurse was joking with me that I had FINALLY gained ONE WHOLE POUND lol. I had lost 19 or 20 right off the bat and then just maintained. I think I've gained maybe 1 or 2 since then, but I'm at the end, so...
Now here I am, 40 weeks today, and no baby yet. I go tomorrow for him to look and see how things are, and then if this kid isn't here by 41 weeks, then he wants to induce. YUCK.

I sure hope that's how I am and only gain a couple pounds. There's supposedly ways you can get labor to kick in. Not sure on the methods but I've heard people mentioning different things. Speaking of seeing how things are going... I've been thinking of switching obs due to the fact they seem negligent :( I'm not quite sure what to do. They wouldn't do my nt scan or anything. 14w4d and not a single us or anything. Just blood and pee in a cup once. No talking nothing

Hmm. Did you tell them you wanted one?
Just for point of view... my OB does an ultrasound somewhere around 8 weeks to help date the baby. I do not think that every OB does that, however. I pee in a cup every appointment, which is tested for protein and sugar. There was the blood test, too, scheduled from the first appointment (which for me was around 8 weeks).
My OB is very thorough, though, and from what I hear, not all OB's do that type of thing. However, I would think that they should be testing your pee at every appointment- that's important and pretty simple, ya know?
If you're gonna switch, do it sooner than later- I hear some OB's don't like taking on pregnancies half way through sometimes...
