Tubes tied and pregnant? Taryn's Mommy ♥ 1 child; Green Bay, Wisconsin 1770 posts

For the past 13 years my mom has had her tubes tied, (she's 41). She gets her period every 28 days like clockwork. Well, it's been about 48 days since her last period and now she's stressing about being pregnant. Two days ago she thought she started but she ended up just spotting, then a couple hours later had some brown discharge, then nothing since. I know she's been very busy for the past 3 months, with work, buying a house, kids, etc. She's going to be testing on Wednesday (the next day she doesn't work) but I thought I'd ask now..

What are the chances of her being pregnant?
Has anyone here ever gotten pregnant while their tubes were tied?

And any other opinions or advice would be welcome!

Thanks!!

She could be starting menopause...

There's a tiny chance she could be pregnant...41 year olds have babies allllll the time. My aunt just had 2 healthy babies at 39 and 41. She got pregnant on an IUD with the 2nd one...it happens. The only surefire method is a hysterectomy.

41 would be early for menopause-- does early run in her family? Tubals aren't 100% foolproof, but I hope (for her sake), it's just a fluke! Maybe it's all the stress..

My parents had my youngest sister at 37  But my mom's tubes weren't tied.

It could be menopause. I think the chance of pregnant after tubes tied is like 1.4-2%

Possibly menopause, although 41 may be on the younger side for that.

However, my aunt had twins after having her tubes tied. So it's always possible :)
