Lump in baby's armpit HopefulMom 49 kids; Texas 4173 posts

My son had his 2 month shots on June 11 and sometime after that I noticed a lump in his armpit. I read that it was from the shots and didn't worry about it. It is still there and I called the pedi today and she had me come in to check it out. She said a lump from a vaccine shouldn't last this long. She made us an appointment for Tuesday for an ultrasound. She didn't say anything about a biopsy and I was too scared to ask about one or what the ultrasound might show.

Has anyone had this experience?

April, I am of no help, but I just wanted to let you know that I read the post and that I am thinking about you and your little man. I am sure everything will be fine, but it is important to get those things checked out. There are quiet a number of things that can cause a lump under the armpit. e.g. a cyst, an abcsess or the lymph nodes might be swollen due to a viral or bacterial infection. I remember having swallen lymph nodes all the time when I was a kid. I think they can also be a sign to an allergic reaction and than they won't go away until the trigger is removed. It is way to early for a biopsy. There are so many other things it could be and it is much more likely that it is just something harmless. He is doing ok otherwise, right? No fever, no decreased appetite and happy and alert?
