I dont know what to call it.. but its like strawberry short cake but inplace of the angel food cake i put bovarian sponge cake YUM!! I'll edit later to add pictures
1 round bovarian sponge cake.. its about 1 inch high and 9 inches in diameter
2 packages of strawberries
1 small tub of strawberry glaze
1 can or tub of whip cream
cut strawberries into small pieces.
mix with the strawberry glaze
place mixture ontop of sponge cake
serve chilled with whip cream
Okay so i know that this isnt very healthy.. but if theres ever a day where you are too lazy to go to the store and you have hot dogs.. this is an idea you can try
what you need
packet of hotdogs
2 mild chili peppers
half an onion
3 or 4 table spoons of olive oil
sat to taste
*dice up peppers and onions
*slice hotdogs into small rounds or pieces (i prefer to boil my hotdogs before i slice them to ensure that they are fully cooked)
*heat olive oil in a sauce pan
*saute peppers and onion until onion begins to slightly turn brown, add salt to taste
* then add the sliced up hot dogs and saute until they start to turn golden brown (if you didnt boil them give em a bit of time until they are cooked on medium heat about 15 -20 minutes constantly stirring)

Ingredients (serves 4)
- 2 large potatoes
- 1 carrot
- 2 zucchinis grated
- 125g can corn kernels, drained
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1/2 cupself-raising flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup chopped continental parsley
- 3 eggs, separated
- 2 tbs olive oil
- Peel potatoes and carrot. Grate into a bowl. Add zucchini, corn, onion, flour, salt, parsley and egg yolks into a bowl. Stir to combine.
- Place egg whites into a bowl and beat until stiff peaks form. Fold through vegetable mixture.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat. Add a little oil. Add 1/3 cup of the mixture and cook for 5 minutes. Cook 4 at a time. Turn and cook for a further 5-8 minutes. Repeat.
1 8 oz package of cream cheese softened
1 sm jar of marshmellow topping
PHILADELPHIA Pesto Dip
1-1/2 cups or 12 servings, 2 Tbsp. each
1 tub (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Cream Cheese Spread
3/4 cup pesto
MIX ingredients until well blended.
SERVE with assorted fresh vegetable dippers
Garden Vegetable Dip
3 hr 30 min
1-1/2 cups or 12 servings, 2 Tbsp. each
1 cup torn fresh spinach leaves
1/2 cup fresh parsley, stemmed
1/4 cup cold water
3 Tbsp. sliced green onions
1/2 tsp. dried tarragon leaves, crushed
1 pkg. (8 oz.) PHILADELPHIA Neufchatel Cheese, 1/3 Less Fat than Cream Cheese, softened
3/4 cup chopped cucumbers
1/2 tsp. lemon juice
3 drops hot pepper sauce
1/4 tsp. salt
MIX spinach, parsley, water, onions and tarragon in small saucepan. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low; cover. Simmer 1 min.; drain.
PLACE spinach mixture in blender or food processor. Add remaining ingredients; cover. Blend until smooth. Place in serving bowl; cover.
REFRIGERATE several hours or overnight. Serve with assorted cut-up fresh vegetable dippers.
VELVEETA Easy Pasta Primavera
6 servings, about 1 cup each
3 cups (8 oz.) rotini pasta, uncooked
1 pkg. (16 oz.) frozen vegetable blend
1/2 lb. (8 oz.) VELVEETA Made With 2% Milk Reduced Fat Pasteurized Prepared Cheese Product, cut up
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. black pepper
ADD pasta to 2 quarts (8 cups) boiling water in a large saucepan. Boil 3 minutes. Stir in vegetables; cook an additional 7 minutes or until pasta is tender. Drain; return to saucepan.
ADD VELVEETA Made With 2% Milk and seasonings. Cook until VELVEETA is melted, stirring frequently.
Rotisserie Huli Huli Chicken
Here is another delicious rotisserie chicken recipe for you to try. The sweet sauce gives this dish an authentic Hawaiian flavor. You can serve this with grilled vegetables, like sweet potatoes or vegetable kebabs.
- 1 3-pound chicken fryer 1/3 cup dark soy sauce 1/4 cup lime juice 1/4 cup honey 3 tablespoons brown sugar 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 tablespoons ketchup 1/2 teaspoon Tabasco salt and pepper to taste 1 teaspoon sesame oil
Combine all ingredients except the chicken and mix well. Brush 1/3 of the mixture over the entire surface of the chicken inside and out. Let sit for 20 minutes. It's best if you can get as much as possible under the skin, particularly over the breasts.
Place chicken on rotisserie spit and grill over a medium low heat on grill with a drip pan under the chicken. After 20 minutes brush of cooking time brush with another 1/3 of the mixture. Repeat after another 20 minutes. Continue grilling until done. Chicken should take about 1 to 1 1/2 hours to cook.
steak with Creamy Onion Sauce
1 medium sweet onion(like Vidalia, Maui etc), thinly sliced
4 6-ounce beef ribeye steaks, cut 1inch thick
1 tablespoon Mediterranean seasoning blend or lemon pepper seasoning
1 8-ounce carton sour cream
2 tablespoons drained capers
1. Preheat broiler. Place onion slices in a single layer on the rack of an unheated broiler pan. Broil 3 to 4 inches from heat for 5 minutes; turn onions. Meanwhile, sprinkle steaks with 1 1/2 teaspoons of the seasoning blend. Place steaks on the broiler pan rack with onions. Broil steaks and onions about 5 minutes or until onions are browned. Remove onions to a cutting board. Continue to broil steaks until desired doneness, turning once.
2. Meanwhile, for sauce, coursely chop the onions. In a small saucepan, combine onion, sour cream, capers, and remaining seasoning blend. Cook over medium-low heat until heated through (do not broil).
3. Transfer steaks to serving plates. Spoon sauce over steaks.
Buttery Garlic Shrimp with Red Pepper
1 1/2 pounds fresh or frozen medium shrimp, peeled and deveined
8 ounces dried angel hair pasta
2 tablespoons butter
2 cloves garlic, minced, or 1 teaspoon bottled minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
1. Thaw shrimp, if frozen. Rinse shrimp; dry with paper towels. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain pasta; keep warm.
2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic; cook for 30 seconds. Add the shrimp; sprinkle with salt. Cook and stir for 2 to 4 minutes or until shrimp turn opaque. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper. Serve over hot, cooked pasta.
I make stroganoff on the stove. Here's what I do:
1 lb ground beef
1 can cream of mushroom soup
2 c. egg noodles (or any noodles)
1 can cut green beans
Brown the beef and boil the noodles at the same time. Drain both.
Mix soup into beef, add green beans, mix well.
Add in sour cream to taste (I use half a carton) and mix well.
Mix in noodles and serve.
It's really quick and yummy - I usually make a double batch and freeze half the beef/soup/green beans mixture and freeze it in a bag. Then all I have to do later is warm up and add noodles and sour cream.
Jack Daniels Meatloaf (safe for pregnancy):
1.5 lb ground beef (80% lean)
1.5 lb ground turkey
1 lg yellow onion finely diced
5 cloves garlic finely diced
1.5 cup ketchup
2tbsp steak sauce
1 cup shredded mozarella cheese
2-3 shots Jack Daniels or favorite whiskey
1 cup bread crumbs (I use the italian herb kind)
2 tbsp each onion powder, garlic powder
3 tbsp olive oil
salt, pepper, worcestershire (i just walked into the kitchen so i could spell that right) to taste.
simmer ketchup, steak sauce, and 1/3 of whiskey for 3-5 minutes until alcohol has cooked out and left a yummy flavor). Set aside (this is what you brush on top!)
Sautee onions and garlic with 1/3 of whiskey (you may need to add a little olive oil or non stick spray to the pan). Add to large bowl. Add all other ingredients and stir (best to use your hands) and dont forget the last splash of whiskey. (IT ALL COOKS OUT, I PROMISE!!!).
Form into 1/2-3/4 lb mini loafs and put on baking sheet. coat liberally with ketchup mixture. (reserve extra ketchup for hot dogs, burgers, etc later!). bake at 375 for 1/2 hr to 45 mins (depending on elevation). I alwasy check doneness with a meat thermometer because my over times are pretty off, so just watch them! I served it with grilled veggies and a small baked potato.
You can also (if you have kids) make the mini meatloafs in muffin tins to make them kid-sized and decrease cooking time even more! You'd have to experiment with the time as I have not made them this way before!
The ketchup sauce to this is seriously fantastic and I keep it on hand for everything from french fries to morning eggs. It is seriously fantastic.
You can also omit the bread crumbs and scale it down to just make burgers for the family (i did that too...mmm). I just made extra onions/garlic and topped the burgers with it when I served!q
Simple pasta salad:
1 lb favorite bowtie/penne/rotelle pasta (i use whole wheat variety) cooked and drained
1 and a half containers of grape tomatos, halved
1 cup finely shredded FRESH basil (check the produce department if you dont grow it)
1 plastic tub of PASTURIZED feta.
Mix ingredients together and chill for about an hour before serving (its great room temp too...I just chill mine enough to get the heat from the pasta out!)
I had this for dinner last night with ahi tuna and a salad and it was fantastic!
Super easy beef & noodles:
1.5 lbs cubed beef (I like to cube my own sirloin or ribeye to make it a little nicer)
1 pkg egg noodles
1 can beef broth (low sodium if you like!)
1 can Progresso french onion soup
1 can mushroom soup
1 lb whole mushrooms cut into quarters.
1 pkg brown gravy mix
1 cup water.
2 tbsp REAL butter
salt and pepper to taste
Cook egg noodles per directions on box/bag. Drain and set aside covered.
Brown the beef lightly on all sides. Remove from pan. Sautee mushrooms
in buttter (salt them now to help draw out juices). Add broth and canned soups and continue to sautee until they are nicely combined (2-3 mins) and then add the water and powdered gravy mix. Return meat to skillet and cook until meat reaches desired doneness (med-well for you pregnant ladies). Pour over noodles and serve family style!
