I tihnk it is a good skill for any parent/care taker to have even if they don't have a preemie. Kudos to you Mama. I got certified in CPR and First Aid the first time at 15 years old and and have taken a refresher course about every 2 years years since then.

I didn't have a premie but I had to be trained in CPR for infants, children, and adults for my job at the police department. It's honestly not hard at all and it's nothing to be scared of or worried about. Just make sure you pay close attention and do everything as they say and you'll be fine. : ) I think every parent/care giver should be certified in CPR...

Yes i had to take it before they would release Landon but they didn't make me re-take before Ryder was released. I also had to take classes on the oxygen and on the monitor. I was a nervous wreck the week leading up to Landon's discharge from all the classes, but the day he came home I was so ready.

Yeah, we did that class and a few others before we could take Teagan home. I am SO glad. I haven't had to use the CPR part (and hopefully never will) but they usually show you how to handle a choking baby and I've used that! It's not hard, just listen and they'll usually have you practice.

I took it 2 times while my lo was in the NICU! First was because the also taught about how to communicate with your preemie, and then i took the second one just as a reminder! Then i also did one at home to get certified! Lets just say i know infant CPR lol
