Hi everyone. I just found this site. I am 32 weeks today with twins and have been on hospital bedrest since 30 weeks when I had severe bleeding due to a ccmplete placenta previa. I am also down because this really sucks! Not what I had in mind for my pregnancy at all. But it is the safest place to be. My OB wants to deliver at 34-35 weeks so I have 2-3 weeks to go. I am worried about the babies if born at 34 but I did have the 2 rounds of steroids. Anyway, juat wanted to say hi.
I had my Baby boy at 34 weeks 5 day's. I was very ill with toxcemia. My baby weighted 5lbs 5oz 16 in. he did not have to go to nicu. he did good.
I had my 1st daughter at 35 weeks 4 days and she was 7 pounds 4 oz. she didnt spend any time in the hospital she went home when i did..This is my 3rd pregnancie im 34 weeks 4days and i have been having all kinds of contractions n pressure.. the dr told me that if she were to come now bcuz of her weight and i have already got a shot for her lungs that she would b ok..I think that it all depends on the baby and how they can handle everything
good luck hope everything works out for u..
I am 34weeks pregnant now and having contractions from last two days.I also had a cervical cercalge so can any one tell that is it safe to have early contractions in this case????
Quoting Mommy2TwoBabies:" I went to the hospital last night for labor. Granted it was stimulated by my darling husband, but it ... [snip!] ... big was your baby and how long did they spend in NICU? They said after 35 weeks they won't stop the labor and that scares me."
I had my son @35w 4d on thanksgiving due to preclamsia, and he was 4lbs 4oz and needed oxygen for 2 hrs and made great progress in nicu, he was there for 11 days and when he left he was at 4lbs 6.5oz and is now home and doing good. Hope everything turns out ok for you doll :)

34 Weeks more then likely they will not stop labor... Keep me updated.

The doctors gave me two seperate shots in attempt to stop my labor at 36.1 weeks.
i will be 34wks on Saturday. anyway, i just wanted to assure everyone who is going to labour around this time that your baby will most likely be ok. i had my first child at 28weeks! and 28 weekers have a 90% chance of survivability! mind you, that's not to say they won't have complications such as breathing, hearing, vision, or maybe they'd be shorter than other kids their age. my son is 2 now, and he's caught up to 50% of his nonadjusted height. he's speach delayed but im not too worried about that. they usually don't count a baby as viable if he or she is born before 24 wks, but even that early, there are some that survive. it's actually really interesting to read about on the internet about micropreemies if u have the time to look it up.
anyway i hear that the lungs, which are the last to form, are pretty much completed by 34wks, so you needn't worry. if something does go wrong by then, i'd say you're one of the very few unlucky ones... but in general, don't worry!!
I Had My Son At 30 Weeks, He Weighed 2lbs 14ounces. He Stayed In The NICU For 2 1/2 Months. But Since Your A Lil Further Along Than I Was Your Baby Shouldn't Be In There That Long. My Friend Had Her Baby At 35 Weeks And He Stayed In The NICU For 2Days. Good Luck, Hope All Is Well.
I had my 4th daughter at 34.2 weeks, she was 5 lbs & 10oz & 17 1/2 inches long. No problems and she was ok and was able to leave with me at discharge. We had to return to hospital a day later due to jaundice & had to stay 2 days. Every pregnancy is different!
I had my daughter at 34 weeks. I had a tear in my back waters and got an infection so they had to deliver her. They put me on the drip to start it off and within an hr I was in theater having a c-section as the baby was getting distressed. When I got to theater my scar ruptured from my previous c-section! Me and my daughter were very lucky and both were fine. Lucy spent two weeks in NICO and weighed 4lbs 5oz. I'd already had the steroid injections and she never needed any help breathing. She had jaundice and needed to be tube fed until she was strong enough to suckle herself. X
