What is the best way to clean car seat straps. I need to sterilize them b/c my son puked all over the car seat this morning.
The cover i put in the washer and it is getting clean, but idk how to clean the straps. Even the buckle thing that goes between the legs needs clean.

TIA

You're not suppose to wash the straps in the washer or soak them. It makes them unsafe.

I would just try some wipes or maybe a toothbrush with some kind of cleaner. I've never had to clean our straps though.

i would take a toothbrush and baking soda to deodorize and disinfect with clorox anywhre but make sure it dries completely before you put lo back in the seat

I don't have the straps soaking. Just the buckle parts that go across the chest. Those come completely off so i am soaking them in some bleach water. the straps i sprayed off with really hot water for now. I need to finish cleaning them. They are drying (along with the base) in the tub.

I jut didn't know if the disinfectant wipes will weaken them or not.

Steph, I've always used the lysol wipes, they're just antibacterial and safe.

I hope he feels better :(
