I went into labour with my first at 29wks and a marginal/partial previa that had to that point gone undiagnosed. The contractions and labour itself had not caused any bleeding until I went in to L&D and they did a cervical check without knowing I had a previa. I have never seen so much blood without actually delivering. I was told it was normal but the looks of shock on their faces told me they actually thought otherwise. They got the contractions under control and I never saw anymore bleeding after that.

I had placenta previa, partially covering...it moved up before my dd. If you go into labor they will check location and decide to c-section or not. I had a completely natural delivery though with no complications.

Hi I'm 31 weeks and I have placenta previa too. Because of my age I've been going to a specialist in addition to my regular doctors. They discovered it 18 weeks and have been checking me regularly. I appears that as my uterus grows the placenta is moving out of the way. I have another US on Wed and we'll see where I am now and then probably check again around 34-35 weeks. The practice I go to is very big so I've seen lots of dr's - one's reaction scared the crap out of me - which really wasn't necessary. As long as you let everyone know that checks you, you should be fine. I've had to abstain from sex and no lifting more than 15 lbs. I wouldn't get too upset about it - there is plenty of time for the situation to correct itself. I REALLY don't want a c-section either but I've accepted the fact that it's all out of my control. Good luck! I'm sure everything will turn out fine.
