Bed bugs epidemic? Jake's Mommy. 1 child; Ohio 724 posts

Well apparently the outbreak is pretty awful. Bed bugs are now found mostly in movie theaters (dark places between creases such as seats), restaurants and in homes!
They say you if you find them, you can kill them on clothing by putting the clothing (include shoes-put shoes in a pillow case) and toss them in the dryer on a high setting for 30 minutes. Otherwise you can't really kill them yourself. When they bite you they numb that spot and suck your blood for 6- 10 minutes  If they do feed off you they can live off that for up to a year.
I watched a show on bed bugs this morning and I haven't stopped itching since!

That'd be scary, I'm not sure what we're ranked at but I heard Cincinnati had a bad outbreak. Yikes.

And yes it was Dr. Oz haha I love the show but that creeped me out this morning!

My sister and her husband and two kids found bed bugs in their hotel room a few weeks back!!!!! Yuck yuck yuck!! The hotel took it very seriously though which was good. They took everything my sister had brought with them and everything in the room to the dry cleaner. They tore up the carpet in the room and got rid of the mattresses too.

That was another place they said they get into! Atleast management took care of it though before it was brought home with them!

I just finished tearing apart my bedroom... I didn't find them, thank God! But my DH stays with my parents during the weeks (he works 3 hours from here, closer to them) and they had to throw away his matress over the weekend b/c they found bed bugs! I've been itching all day too!1

They usually leave bites in a row, most commonly arms and shoulders... for whoever asked.
