Spider bites and tingling/numbness Weztlee and Whyitt EOM 2 kids; California 15993 posts

Please tell me I'm not crazy and this isn't in my head (although it very well may be)

Last night when I was up one of the billion times feeding Westley, I had a horrific stabbing pain on the soft inside area of my wrist. I grabbed it and sure enough I had been bit by a spider. It was really really painful for a while, so much so that it took me an hour to fall asleep. I'm no pain wuss, and I haven't ever even noticed getting bit by a spider before until I accidentally end up bumping the bite, but this hurt. There were shooting pains up and down my arm up to my elbow, and my hand felt like it had fallen asleep.

So here I am, many hours later. My hand is still tingling, it hasn't stopped all day even though I'm using it just as I normally would, and I can't tell if I'm imagining it but it's almost like it's a little numb. It's hard to do things with...like twist the cap off a water bottle, it's like I couldn't make my hand grip it enough to twist it.

So in my head? Totally possible it's happening from the spider bite and if so what the heck do I do about it? Something else going on? I'm freaking out about it.

I've heard about that, and I think if that happens you should seek medical attention. In no way am I trying to freak you out or anything, but with the symptoms you described I think it would be best to see a doctor, even if they just reassure you that it's perfectly normal. With bug bites, a lot of times, I've heard that it's important to get it checked out as soon as you notice it, well if they have semi serious out of the norm reactions like yours. I'd get it checked out.

Did you see the spider or you just think it was a spider?

I'd get checked out just to be sure. Did you keep the spider...what did it look like.

Call your Dr or go in!

I got bit by a brown recluse and the area turned red, pussy and then basically died. I could barely feel my leg and was dragging it around by that point. I lost a nickle-quarter sized chunk of skin from my leg and consider myself very lucky the damage wasn't worse.
