with the baby's heartbeat next to it... Mine went up to 60-something the other day at the doctors and for some reason i had never known what the number was so i asked because it was going up from like 9 and then reached 60. they told me it was a contraction. I guess a small one? She asked if i felt it and I didn't feel it at all. Idk now if maybe i have been having BH contractions and just couldn't feel them..
So I'm wondering what number you usually feel it at/how high it goes when you're having major ones like labor ones? or which number you felt yours at? I've been curious.
I never understood the constraction monitor. Either that or I just have a high pain tolerance - that thing would be going off the charts consistently..it was way over 100, I do believe...and it still felt like tinges or cramps, but never actually painful. So, I'm not sure what it exactly measures. I asked a nurse once and she just said, "contractions." lol
I asked like every five minutes while I was at the hospital what the numbers meant and they just kept saying the same thing... "contractions". I never felt any of mine that strong either, but after about two hours I got talked into having an epi so I dunno what they mightve felt like later.
There is no number that you'll feel it at because the base line will be different for each person. I've had it before where I"m feeling hard core contractions at 20 and ones I can't hardly feel at 80. It just depends on what the tension/pressure was when they hit the baseline button on the machine.
when I was being induced before the pitocin my contractions where 60-80 I didnt feel a thing then when the pitocin started they were 115-135 and I felt those!!!
