I took my son into the doctors today because he has a really bad phlegmy cough like it sounds almost like a bark and you can feel it in his chest. Anyway so we went in and the doctor said it was from teething??? Has anyone elses babies gotten a bad cough from teething??? It even takes his breath away sometimes....

Um, no. I'd get a second opinion. Whooping cough is going around pretty bad this year! Maybe look up the symptoms of that.

I've never heard of that...... My son will get a little bit of a runny nose from time to time from teething, but never a cough.

None of mine did....ever! It increases mucous creation though, so it does make sense.

Muffin had it a few weeks ago. The nasal drip was getting into her lungs and causing a really bad cough.

But you should definitely get a second opinion!

My husband got a cold and then I did. Our son just got it also, or so I thought. It's the same cough we had, a little congestion and a lot of running nose. I'm not sure if it's just the cold anymore. I think partially it is but I think teething is making it worse. I just yesterday noticed that he had two more teeth coming in. Before, he got a really bad runny nose when he would teeth and slight cough.
