I am so thankful for the people that introduced me to this thread. I'm 17 years old and have an incompetent cervix, I found out my cervix was completely thinned out like it wasn't even there around when I was 21 weeks pregnant, my doc put me in the hospital the day I found out about my cervix and I the next day I had the cerclage put in and now i've been on complete bed rest ever since.

its good to know im not alone.

yes i would get another opinion. when i was found to have a short cervix, about 2.7 as well, i was immediately given a cerclage.

IC is what caused 3 out of 4 of my miscarriages, and why I'm terrified presently. I'm so glad someone posted this thread :)

Will you be getting a cerclage? Have you had one in any of your past pregnancies?

Glad to read this I have to get the cerclage done tomorrow (9/12) and I'm a bit nervous. I'm not sure what to expect after the surgery, and I will be starting the progesterone injections in about a week. This is my 2nd pregnancy the 1st I was on bed rest at 29weeks but she said it was to last to do the cerclage this time my doctor checked me early knowing my past.

You have nothing to be worried about! I had a cerclage placed about 2 months ago. It is just fine! You are going to get an epidural right before the operation, then you'll go numb, then you just lay there and let the doctor put in the cerclage. There is no pain, and it is over before you know it! After the operation is done, you'll just want to lay in bed for the next 24 hours cus you'll be a little bit achey in your belly, but it's not even that bad. The next day you will feel just fine!

I'm going to tell my doctor I want one because of my past, but no, I've never had one. I've never even been given the option to have one, but hopefully it will work out this time.

Thank you!! No one in my family has ever had this problem so it's all new to me. It's always nice to hear from someone else who has experienced it.

Good, I'd definitely push for one :) So far, mine is holding up great~ I'm also on the progesterone injections. No bed rest so far, and am feeling pretty good, apart from regular pregnancy woes ;) 28 weeks tomorrow :D

Good luck with your pregnancy, and I hope you are able to get the cerclage!
