Quoting Starke Thatguy:" I agree with the last bit.... however if you put the shoe on the other foot for women (modern day that ... [snip!] ... decent and intelligent white male of today is left looking with a gaped mouth! .................that's just the way i see it!"

I would like to know how you think young white men are being pushed down...any examples?

That's how I feel about my daughters. I want them to be able to one day make as much money as their fellow male employee. Not have to be shamed into thinking she is a whore for liking sex and being okay with her sexuality. Be able to walk down the street without being harassed or cat called at.

@ sarah.... turn on the TV for 20 minuets and you'll see it, plenty of examples have been given in the opening remarks!...... you seem to be one of the I want to have my cake and eat it too women.... please don't make contradictory remarks in attempt to twist a real subject. Given the way society thinks about it, I'll just have to live and die with my crazy ideas!

Do you just not have any examples? That's a pretty lame ass answer. Obviously you are going off something..I hope anyway. :?

I shouldn't have to explain something that has already been explained at the beginning of this discussion it is a waste to do so.... ignore it if you want... that's your prerogative.

Why did you even come into debate and discuss then? Lol, you don't want to take the time and actually think out what you type then what's the point? Way to beat those stereotypes.

Thank you! But apparently I need his type of "man" to spoon feed me. Dude has got some serious mommy issues.

"So, yes, while it is a problem.... white men are still looked at in our society as the top"
men lost 74% of jobs during the economic crisis and while men where losing jobs women gained them..... Facts speak for themselves

and yes Sara it is very small mined for your rebuttal to be based on a small grammatical oversight thus proving my point you are petty and grasping at straws without having any actual knowledge to back up what you say!

"mommy issues" no I have society issues...... Women still want to be catered to and swooned by men while not caring about the financial burden it places on men, but you insist that men make too much.... I worked in the department of corrections and women BY LAW aren't allowed to do the jobs that men are (strip searching, conflict resolution , hostile environments, visitation incoming and exiting... etc...i can go on and on) but the majority of women in that field sit back relax and collect a check when men do all the work for them! If something is to high to reach if something is to heavy, gaggles of women still expect men to grab, pick and do most of the heavy lifting for them but still in the same breath expect the same pay.... and that is just a selfish and careless mentality.... and on top of those fact (which i have worked, lived and seen) people like myself still have to come home at the end of a long day of doing women's jobs for them and get publicly bashed 24/7...... But hey sara you sit back and let your man take care of you and your two kids while passing judgement on a subject that you have NO real world experience with! Once again the whole "Have your cake and eat it too" mentality is sickening!

PS.. and that whole stat BS about women making less doesn't even account for a mans budget for expenses for women.... but in the real jobs its total BS.... women make just as much and as I have seen MORE....especially in correction Women made as much as lieutenants just because they were women AND THAT'S A FACT (those vast pay grade increases where compensation for the actions of the DOC against not allowing women to work in male institutions where they shouldn't be in the first place!!!! nor should a male be in an all woman's facility... )! but those stats may very well apply to CEO positions and other jobs that the majority of people will never even see! SO TAKE THAT BS UP WITH THEM not with actual working people

So. It is your belief that every woman you saw being promoted in your field was promoted or given a pay bump just because she was a woman?

....I'm sorry. That's like saying, "You voted for Obama, just because he's black."

To me, it seems that you believe that a woman could not possibly have gotten that job based on merits.

And, hey, I can throw around anecdotes as much as the next person...

I make thousands of dollars less per year then the men that are working under me. I have to chase them down and get on their ass about doing their job. Then, I go home, to my unemployed boyfriend. Should my employer, too, account for the man that I'm supporting?

As I've stated already, yes, all of the bashing needs to stop (including the BS that women do nothing but suck from the bank accounts of men, and sit back and collect a paycheck-- how are you not doing the same thing that you're bitching and complaining about when it's directed towards you?)
