What? I'm female and unfortunately I've had a few encounters with the department of corrections. The officers that strip searched me were female. When I visited one of my friends in jail, there were females all over the visitation area, escorting us and the inmates, searching us, doing the paperwork, ect. It was equal amount and both sexes were doing the same amount of work. :?

Unfortunately, most everyone is so butthurt about their feelings being hurt that they can't see past their own bias, to the root of the problem.

The problem is still antiquated and outdated assumptions of the other groups, and no one group is free from these assumptions.

Just as racism will not go away until we stop arguing about which race is better, neither will sexism, or any other kind of canning, bottling, and labeling that goes on.

We need to realize that ANY assumption about anyone else, based on our own bias (which can be hard to see sometimes) is damaging. We can't expect people to stop labeling us until we can stop labeling everyone else. We can't expect respect without giving it, first.

To be honest, I don't see male bashing.

But any bashing for any reason is wrong.

I'm kind of on the fence about it but I don't have hardly any good experiences with men so this might be why. So, sadly I'll end of being bias in this conversation. Although I have met very few men who didn't seem like a meat head, it hasn't changed my opinion much.

That's the way NC DOC works i dunno about NY .......@Sara... I'm what some would consider borderline sexist yes (that's what society labels a man that thinks things should be realistically equal... men are better at some things than women and women are better than men at others and there are the rare occasions where those strengths are switched and also those jobs where they are equally matched. Women that preform better than men at certain jobs should get paid more and men that perform better at others should get paid more that's what equality really is...getting paid for the actual work)..... for every action there is an equal and opposite one!.... Cheers Sara thanks to women like you all over this country you help cement that sexist mentality into men that are treated unfairly because of our genitals! so when you run into a sexist you have no one to blame but yourself !:)

sorry i missed your post....!
I know it...the women that had the massive pay bumps did not earn them.... I did not say every woman but a majority of the ones at the facility i worked at!.... yes..... as a matter of fact because I reported a woman for misconduct "leaving keys in cell doors" which were accessible to inmates... they threw that issue out and tried for years to stick unlawful charges to me because I dared to report against a woman..... I am 6' 4" 300+ pounds and the woman was 5' 1" 130 soaking wet... she regularly talked down to grown men and stated "If i want your opinion I'll rattle your cage" then people like me would have to jump in the middle to save her ass!... she put allot of people in danger!... yet to spite RECORDS that i held in the facility for good job performance I was harassed non- stop for years.... just because i spoke out against a woman! I have 52 pages of legal documentation to prove this....but Lawyers won't touch a harassment case against a government body if your a white male!...thats the fact...and it was spelled out to me very clear by lawyers to spite the extreme mistreatment.... for example i was charged for "Disrupting the Operations of the Department of Corrections" for being out sick and i had a doctors note......I always beat the charges but i had to work to do so in my free time after 12hour shifts..... while i had to listen to male bashing on every media form.... I know my experiences in this have made me very on sided and bitter. I have seen this kind of male abuse at some of its worse and i am A HUGE victim of it! ....Hope that gives some insight into my thought process!..... If many men were forced to deal with what i did they would be pissed about bashing too

I feel sorry for my husband so times. He's a sweet guy and I kinda take advantage of him, not the other way around. He is a giant dick sometimes, but he doesn't deserve that crap.
