i am having the hardest time coming up wtih gift ideas for my 18 month old.
everything i see is either too baby-ish, or too big kid-ish.
my family bought him all my ideas lol

what are you getting your 18 month old?

have you tried taking him to see what he likes? So you can get an idea.

Well Irelynn is 23 months, but its not too big of an age difference and shes a girl.
But
I have gotten her a bunch of books a few puzzles, artsy stuff because she is really getting into drawing and painting.
They also have tadoodles which is like a crayon with a handle on it. He may enjoy those. Blocks are a good option too.

I find that 18months is one of the hardest age group to buy for, for the exact reasons you listed.
How about something that can grow with him, like the fisher price little people sets. The farm is a nice one since there are many add-ons for future growth.

You can always just get him practical things he needs like clothes etc... He is too little to care, especially if he is already getting toys from other family members!

my LO will be 20 months at christmas.. but i got him that chuck truck that talks.. a leap frog bike.. its a giraffe i think, i don't know what it's called, but its from 18-36 months and i like it cause eventually he'll learn how to peddle it and play the games. plus it plays music. uhhhm..a vacuum.. i cant remember what else for the LIFE of me damnit. Maybe a kitchen? My LO has elmo's restaurant and he LOOOOVES it. He's always cookin me pizza and makin me eat it, lol.

my LO's real big into trucks and cars - so that's always a safe bet. Oh, one of those things you sit on that is round and has a thing in the middle you hold onto to spin.. I think it's for age 3 and up but he loves those, lmao. Oh, and a tonka flip back? race car..

My son is 16 months and I am having the same problem. I found this though, and I really want to get it for him.

It's a 3 in 1 toy. It can be a push toy, ride on toy, then it changes to a scooter. It always sings and stuff.
