Has anyone else gotten an email from Scentsy about compliance issues for doing giveaways on BG? Does anyone know what it is about and WTF they are talkign about.... I recieved this email from them today in regaurds to my latest giveaway:
I needed to contact you in regards to the specials you have listed on the Baby-gaga webpage (http://forum.baby-gaga.com/about1446894.html) where you are advertising your own personal specials/deals/discounts/giveaways. There have been two communications sent out to the field last week covering advertising policies that I strongly suggest that you review and please ensure that all posts that are out of compliance per those policies are removed from this website and any others they may be posted that are viewable to the public. Please do an audit on the site and remove any posts that are out of policy.
I have reread our Advertising Policies and cant figure out how I might have violated them, anyone know anything?
Also I know for a fact that the only way a person would recieve such an email is if they were reported, which means someone on this site reported me for something that everyone else does as well. I really hope whoever wrote to Scentsy about it isnt doing to other consultants as well, esp without speaking with consultants about the possibility of it violating policy. Esp since the majority of us dont think it violates policy at all.
no I haven't.... did you list prices for anything??
I haven't gotten an email but if someone else reported it, I think that's pretty freaking shady.
The only thing I can think of that you MIGHT be violating, and that's a huge might, is the one "outside" webpage rule. :?
Nope, it just says im giving away a free Scentsy buddy and the ways to get entrys. (name, announcements, buy from party)
I did use a picture of the Scentsy Buddies.
And I told someone in responses that we are unable to use the military warmers in the package deals because of the donations.
What two communications is she talking about? I didn't get anything about advertising policies :?
Just as a reminder, it is against Scentsy policy for Consultants to list, retail, or sell Scentsy products or product bundles in either online or print advertising. Consultants are only allowed to advertise for prospecting, recruiting, and informing the public about the Scentsy business opportunity and/or Scentsy events.
Scentsy created this policy to protect the business opportunity for all Consultants. Orville and Heidi believe their most important responsibility is to make sure you get paid well for the time you spend on your Scentsy business. If one Consultant advertises deep discounts, that creates pressure on other Consultants to do the same, driving profits and business potential down for everyone.
When Compliance says that you can't advertise specific items online, what exactly does that mean? It means you may NOT name any Scentsy product in your ad. For example: "Contact me about the Newborn Nursery collection," or, "I have many warmers on hand, including Faith, Hope, Lisbon, etc." The rules for posting online ads are the same for Facebook, Twitter, or Craigslist. You may advertise the Scentsy business opportunity and/or promote your own business, but not product names, prices, or Consultant-created product bundles or specials.
Compliance-Approved Advertising Examples
- Listing general categories, as in, "We have a wide variety of warmers and fragrances to choose from." Mentioning Scentsy's Warmer of the Month/Scent of the Month program without naming the Scent or Warmer of the Month. Inviting customers to contact you for details, as in, "Contact me to hear my special offers," in flyers, online ads, or print ads. Inviting customers to email or call you for details, as in, "Contact me to hear my special offers," on your Personal Website (PWS).
Out-of-Compliance Advertising Examples
- Listing names of warmers or their prices on Facebook or Craigslist. Advertising a seasonal special that is not in the catalog or in any other Scentsy literature. Listing a percentage discount or sale price on any product or bundle. Listing ANY pricing information, whether a percentage or a dollar amount. Advertising a free Scentsy Bar
