I think the whole idea is amazing and would do it in a heartbeat. My grandmother benefitted from this very thing. She had an older sister who died of starvation because her mother's milk never came in. Her older brother was fed goat milk when he was born as again she did not have milk. By the time my grandmother was born the family was much better off and they hired a wet nurse for her. This practice was once VERY common with more affluent families.
When queen would give birth, they would find lactating nurse (nanny's)
To breastfeed there babies.
I think its fine, I would do it, if it was needed.
But I think the bond I have with my daughter over breastfeeding is irreplaceable, and I dont think I could have that bond with any other infant.

I would nurse someone else's kid without a doubt.
I would if I had to but I wouldn't be comfortable doing it just on a whim. I would rather give my child formula than someone else's breastmilk and that's just a personal thing for me.
I would do it if I had to. Like if it was my relative or friend. It also wouldn't bother me if they BFd my baby if they had to.
My mom BF one of her sister's kids when my sister was a baby. She dropped her off to be babysat but had forgotten to pack the formula, my mom didn't realize until she was already hungry and she was at home alone with no car and 2 babies and a toddler.
My aunt was pissed.
I am late chiming in, but I did breastfeed my niece once when my sister got stuck in traffic on the way home from work. My niece was 12 weeks old and my son was almost 4 weeks old - she had already drank all the pumped milk that my sister had sent. I called my sister to see what she wanted me to do - give her some formula of samples we had gotten from the hospital or nurse her. She said please nurse her and so I did. I was a little worried that it might feel strange, but it was just like feeding my baby. She latched right on, cuddled up and settled right down. She was a happy baby after that. My sister was very greatful that I was willing to do that for her.
I don't honeslty know how I would feel about it, if it was not someone I was very close with though.
I have donor milk in my freezer :D
I am sure someone will say this is gross, but I think its a beautiful story. I read this a while back on another site a long while back.
