Hey there, I just noticed last night after i gave my 11 month old daughter a bath that her cheeks were somewhat red and chapped ,and today it is a little worse, it has been very cold here for the past few days, Im not sure what to do about it, and dont know much about chapped cheeks,? and was wondering what I can use on her cheeks? I was reading a little about it and saw that a lot of people said that their pediatrician said to use hydro cortosone cream, ? and I actaully have some in my cabinet, and wanted to use it but im not 100% sure? has anyone used hydro cort cream for this purpose before, and if so did it help?
or is there something else i can use?
also like i said i dont know anything about chapped cheeks, is it from the cold weather or could it be from her teething? and does it hurt or bother her? she seems fine, but i was wondering if it burns or anything?
thanks for the help!

I usually put a little Aquaphor on my son when he gets dry skin on his face.

I'm sure that would be fine, or maybe some Vaseline? I use Aquaphor for Sophia

PETROLEUM JELLY!!! It works WONDERS!!! I wouldn't use Hydrocortisone(sp?), but that's just me. Vaseline ALWAYS works for me...without any side effects.

Cortisone cream is typically for itching. I use Aquaphor or Vaseline when DD or DS has chapped skin. Dont put any kind of scented lotion on it for sure! That may sting.

Aquaphor is awesome! At night you can also put olive oil on her skin, it's natural so it soaks in to the skin better.

I use aquaphor as well but there's also a thing call Boudreaux's Baby kisses. It's for dry, chapped lips and cheeks.
