I'm almost a year PP and my scar is still very noticable. It's purple and raised. Will it go down? Is there anything I can do to try to help it not be so noticable?

If it's healed, and raised, it's probably keloid. That won't go away. :(

Half of mine is like that, but it's not purple.

Massage it, with vitamin e oil, or polysporin or mederma or any other lotion you like. the massaging is what will help. i did that from when 2 weeks on and I have a really nice scar at a year. I usually don't scar nice, and it was raised at first, not healing straight.

Mine's like that... I had a repeat 28 months after my first, but it was like that then too. I don't think it'll ever change.

Mine is like that too. I asked my OB and she said it was normal and some are like that. But it will never go away. It has a name but I can't remember what she said it was called.

No prob. :) I accidently insulted my surgeon at 6 weeks post op because it looked crooked and raised, but the massaging and lotion really helped. It's a thin white line now, and where it was raising up you can't even tell anymore.

tea tree oil is pretty helpful for keloid scars. they won't go away, but it'll help a bit.
