What do u think about the 'passy fairy'.... Mommy knows best ♥ Due January 24; 2 kids; Beverly Hills, California 184 posts

My mother in law is freaking out beacause my daughter Aubree just turned 3 and she still is obsessed with her passafire, she NEEDS to sleep / NAP with it, she NEEDS it when she cries, she NEEDS it in the car.... she NEEDS it most the time. If she does not have it, she will cry and cry and cry until she or somebody finds it. Aubree will attend pre-k Next year and im nervous she will still be attached to her passy.
My mom suggested and idea called the Passy Fairy she heard about on TV, she says they usually let the kids decorate a manila folder with stickers, and ribbons and markers and things and tell her to put her passy's in there & let her put it in the mail-box overnight and replace the folder with goodies, like candy and mini toys... so that it'll be there for her in the morning.... what do u think ?
if you dont think this will work.... what do u suggest ?
The new baby comes in Feb, and i pray she gives them up before then.

My little cousin was a passy freak. One night the passy fairy came, he left his passy somewhere in his room, got a toy in return. He had a little bit of rough time with it, but it was a fun idea.

I'd do it. It's best to get out of the habit now before the baby comes along. Although, if the new baby has a nuk, then she may try to steal it from the baby. We did a similar thing to get my daughter off her bottle. We did it at easter time, she left all her bottles out for the easter bunny to take, and he brought her a new big girl sipper cup. Maybe you could even get her to leave them out for Santa and tell her he needs to take them to all the little babies, but he will leave her a gift in return?

I'd say, try anything. You never know what may work! And if that does, awesome. Sounds like a good idea, in theory!
