No, bath for b**bs, meaning, dip them in a hot water bath.. Like a sitz bath for breasts.

Hot and cold compresses and constant nursing will help...as will breast compression in the shower can also help.

My almost 4 month old is pooping about 1 to 4 times a day.She is EBF.Her pediatrician says she has diarrhea and to cut off BFing for 24 to 48 hours.feed a anti diarrhea formula as primary food, with BFing slowly added back in.
My DD doesn't act distressed or seem in pain. She has been eating a lot and I think starting to teethe. How many poops are too much for a EBF baby? Does pooping more then once mean diarrhea? Any advice is appreciated, thanks! :)

Your doctor is an idiot!!!
Even if it were diarrhoea, (which I don't think it is), breastfeeding is the best way to replace fluids lost. Over here you're advised to STOP formula feeding and give pedialyte only, but to continue breastfeeding.
Keep BFing that little girl!

This is insane. Formula that the child has never had would not be a good idea IF baby does have diarrhea (
And is poop watery? BF baby poop is loose. that does not mean it is diarrhea.

I am still BFing,I was so surprised when Janie suggested formula.I would think the formula would make things worse too.

The poops are loose but not watery, mucusy or green. My husband and I are disagreeing over this.I think everything is fine so far,but he wants me to quit BFing and just FF from now on.

what nonsense! as long as baby is EBF, all their poops will be liquid. I mean, think about it, breastmilk is liquid, so if what goes in is liquid, what comes out will be liquid. and they can poop as much as they want. It's totally normal.

if you want to BF, continue to BF. it's the best thing for your baby. Formula will just screw things up. Don't use it unless you HAVE to.

This thread is no longer stickied. It is getting close to being full.
There is a new BFing sticky. if you could subscribe to the new one, that would be great! That way, when people have questions, there will already be a lot of people over there that can help them. Thanks!!

Help!
I noticed last night my supply is suffering because I'm taking Claritin for my allergies. I know that the loratadine CAN affect my BM and in my case it has but my allergies are HORRIBLE. What can I do? I heard local honey helps which I'll try to find/buy today..but I'd like to hear other options as well. My DS is 18 months and he's not ready to wean yet and quite honestly I'm not either </3
