14-15 week gender scan *Felecia* 18 kids; Pataskala, Ohio 2383 posts

I had a gender scan on Sunday, I was 14w5d. She couldnt determine the gender in 3D as she saw nothing full frontal or in a potty shot, but in 2D, she said it was a boy. I asked her why the nub was split and she said "A nub is a nub" My friend had her 15 week ultrasound just a 2 day difference and you can see a for sure penis. Here is my pic:

I just wanted to know other ladies experiences with u/s at this time. at 12 weeks we were told 90% girl by another tech, and this time went to an elective place. I just wanted to be sure before we bought bedding and started painting. (which is still weeks away!). Thanks!!!

I would never trust an ultrasound at 15 weeks. I only trust them after 20 weeks.

looks like a penis to me! BUTTTTTTTTT I wouldn't go by a 2d scan that early on.. over here they won't even look for gender before 20 weeks

It could go either way. Most babies still look the same that early. My 16 week one they told me a boy and at 20 weeks he turned into a she. I wouldn't buy anything till you get your 20 week one.

Wow definitely a boy and whoever told you a girl at 12 weeks is crazy nothing forms until the 18th week but in your case his penis is still forming somewhat but its definitely a boy

i think its a boy.. they scanned you really earlier though so idk if the "tubercle" would be formed into boy/girl parts yet or not, but im not a ultrasound tech so i wouldnt really know, but it looks like a boy thingy to me

I had our 4d at 16 weeks and it was verry clear it was a boy. You could see the sac and everything
But when I had a 2d at 13 weeks the Dr was 85% sure it was a girl.

14 weeks is pretty early to get a positive answer on a gender. I mean, people think they are getting a certain gender their whole pregnancy and it comes out different. Why were you getting a gender u/s that early? I'd wait till 20 weeks..

Well if they are wrong, we get our $$ back. It just looks SOO differ from my sons potty shot, you could see balls and a penis, she said she couldnt see the balls bc they weren't formed. Buy my sons were at 15w6d and my friends sons are SO there in her 15 week shots. even her side, profile shot you can see his penis and balls, in mine it's just a nub and no balls. Thats why I worry.

For the one who said girl-do you have a pic of your girls potty shot when she was a "he"?
