I'm dealing with my second major head cold of my pregnancy, and both times my doctor has said to use nothing but Vick's Vapo-Rub, cough candies and a humidifier.
PLEASE do not take any medication without first consulting your doctor, despite what some of the girls on here may say.

That's weird that they didn't offer you the flu vaccine on your first visit. That was practically the first thing they encouraged me to do. Oh, and Tylenol is definitly safe to take. So are Sudafed tablets, actified tablets, robitussin (plain or DM or PE), Benylin (plain or DM), sudafed cough syrup, or Cold EZE drops (I am reading directly from the paper my doctor gave me of Safe Medicines During Pregnancy)

my doc gave me a list of OK meds to take when we get a cold or flu and here's what's on the list of approved meds:
-cold: Tylenol, Sudafed, Saline nose spray, Robitussin (no alcohol)

It's probably smart to still ask your doctor tho, he or she might think differently about the above meds. This is just what mine said. hope you feel better!

No problem. Be careful though, not sure what kinda side effects you'll get when you mix your prenatal vitamins with them. I'm sure nothing could make you feel any worse right now :)

I just came down with a really bad cold, I'm about 8 1/2 weeks....it's my first baby and it scares me so much to be sick whilst being pregnant! I haven't taken anything just drank lots of orange juice, but after working last night I'm worse today than I was yesterday. I have a doctor's appointment on Thursday, should I just feel crappy and deal with it until I talk to her then?
