My son's cheeks turn red even if it's not cold or windy outside. They get all chapped and gross looking. We put aquaphor on them but it takes days to go away. Does anyone else have this problem? Or any remedies?

Classic eczema flare up! You should see a DR and get hydrocortisone to clear it up.

And you are doing the right thing by moisturizing. But soap residue left on your hands can irritate it, so be carefull.

I don't know if aveno is different than other lotions, but putting lotions on chapped skin usually burns like hell. I say see a doc definately could be eczema!!

Poor thing! Looks painful. Have you carried him to a doctor yet? A mama on here, her son has the same thing, but his I think looks a little more scaly. Anyway they said he had eczema, but now they are thinking it's something else.

I agree
And dont' put baby lotion on it, that will sting if it's eczema.

I've asked the doctor over and over and he says it's just from the cold but it does it in the summer, spring, fall. It's constant. But especially worse after the cold. It was almost gone and then we let him play in the first and probably only snow of the year here in texas and he was almost bleeding afterwards! it doesn't seem to bother him much at all, but I just hate it :( and everybody always look at me and says something about his cheeks!
