My son is almost 2 years old and his father has wanted nothing to do with him at all, but now he just got engaged to this awful annoying woman and now he is taking to to court trying to get custody of him and it's all because of that woman. I'm worried that he is going to win cause he is better off financially than I am...I just don't know what to do

As much as that sucks, unless he's unfit, he has rights to the child, too. I hope he's not doing it just to get out of child support, though.

It's possible that he may get joint custody with visitation, but nothing more than that.

Financial stability is only one thing that is considered when deciding custody. The fact that you have been his primary caretaker for the last 2 years makes more of a difference.

I doubt very seriously he'd get custody - like full custody. Because a judge would want to know why all of a sudden, 2 years later he feels like he needs custody of this child. Also, if he's NEVER had anything to do with him - in a lot of states there is an abandonment law after 2 years.
If I were you, I'd just call a family lawyer and have a consultation and get their advice. If he does take you to court then you need to have a lawyer. But, unless he can prove YOU unfit - he's not going to get full custody..period. Especially after being absent for 2 years.
Men try to run all kinds of bullshit on women when it comes to kids - apparently he doesn't know the law.

Relax.

Try to accept the fact that he will be able to get some sort of visitation with him but there is pretty much no way that he will be able to get full custody. Especially if he hasn't been involved for the past two years.
