Birthday Invitation help! how to say NO! Melissa♥ 1 child; Massachusetts 37472 posts

So we are thinking of having Yasmine's 3rs birthday party at a small bowling alley.
For the amount of people we are actually inviting its 200$ then 10$ each extra person..
The past 2 birthday parties we had people bring extra people WITHOUT asking if it was ok, or even giving us a heads up!
This year I do NOT want to tolerate that. We are inviting ONLY the people that have been a part of Yasmine's life, and thats it.
How do I say on the invitation to please only bring the people invited (the front of the card will be addressed to the people invited) or they are welcome to bring more people, but that I am not paying for their ticket?

I would just say invitees only are included, all extra guests will be at their own expense, something like that.

Just tell them NO extra people. They will have to pay. Im paying for the ten kids to get into the play place. I told them they must RSVP and NO extra people.

oh yeah I agree!
But the past two years was like ::shrug:: we had it at a hall, so there was room for extra people, but this year I just cannot dish the money like that.
I'd rather pay the 200$ and not worry about what if's and spend the rest on presents, decorations, etc/

Happens a lot I think. I've never had anyone do that without asking nor would I ever do that, but I think a lot of people have no common courtesy.

This is what I did. It worked out well. I only had one lady freak out about it.

Good! It's to the point, but not rude.
