So I don't know if I am having a miscarriage or a threatened miscarriage. I am going in for my 2nd hCG test in a couple hours. The home pregnancy test is still coming up positive, so I am hoping.

To those mamas who have had threatened miscarriages: Could you share your story with me?

All ER's say it's a "threatened miscarriage" whenever you bleed.
Mine turned out to be a real one.

Thank you. I thought it was another miscarriage but it is not at all the same as my last one and it seems like my hCG should no longer be showing up on a HPT if it was a true miscarriage.

Started bleeding horribly one day after work. Blood had clots and seeped through my jeans. I was bleeding a lot when I gout to the er. They did blood testing and my levels were fine. Then they had me go back for a ultrasound. It looked normal they could see the heartbeat fine. They did a vaginal and same thing, baby was ok. They had no idea what caused it. I was put on bed rest and bled for days after really bad. I also had mild cramping. Eventually the bleeding stopped and at my next apt they did another high risk us and found a sac of fluid which was what was causing the bleeding. Eventually the sac went away on it's own, and now I'm 27 weeks with a healthy baby boy.

No your hcg would still show up on a pregnancy tests for weeks after. It wouldn't just gok away. The hormones stay in your system for quite some time. However a blood test will be able to determine if your levels are dropping or if they are whe they should be

Thank you.

I started spotting last Wed. (but I spotted through my first pregnancy too) and the heavier bleeding started on Monday. I was thinking of just asking for an ultrasound tomorrow. I just want to know the answer.

They need to give you an ultrasound in my opinion. How far along are you?

With my first miscarriage, my hCG levels dropped immediately. So I do know it happens that way.

I had a threatened miscarriage at 10 weeks. I was cramping and bleeding, and the doctor was somewhat cold. He checked me, told me there was still blood in me, and that even if I was having a miscarriage, there's nothing they could do. I know it's true, but it hurt. They sent me home and I waited. The bleeding stopped. At 15 weeks I was in a car accident. Not a bad one, but I was admitted into the hospital because of more cramping. They told me there that I had placenta previa which is probably what caused my bleeding to begin with. It cleared itself up, and I had my daughter, healthy, at 39 weeks and 6 days. Good luck momma! I know it's scary!

Yeah but it would still show up positive in a pregnancy test. Not all levels drop enough to show a negative result. It's actually pretty uncommon that happens.

Are you having any cramping or clotting?
