They are covering their asses from liability.

I wouldn't allow large agressive breeds on my property either.

I KNOW we had two pits and they were the sweetest dogs but we lost one to that and the other just now to that.
pitt bulls are only aggressive the way you raise them
the only problem I had with mine is she wouldnt want to stop licking my daughter..

:( I feel you mama I have two pitbulls & I love them more then life it's self & I stay with my dad at the moment in a white ,quite, old people neighborhood & until I move out I have to keep them not seen because my dads landlord says no pitbulls. I can't take them for walks or nothing :( I'm sorry you have to deal with ignorant people also . any dog can bit.

Quoting dallas cowboys.:" i guess we shouldn't allow humans on property either, their worse than dogs when it comes to being aggressive."

Dogs are property, you are responsible for your property, and if that dog bit someone on their property, they can be sued.

If a human runs out and bites someone on their property, they just get arrested.

We aren't allowed pit bulls here either but our landlord is awesome and calls me when the owner is on property lol. She has a pretty blue pit herself haha.

Pits are sweet but they still make me nervous. All larger dogs do though. I was attacked as a child and my face was ripped up. Ironically it was a smaller medium sized breed that did it. A blue heeler I believe. IDK. I think the restrictions are more because of stupid ignorant owners rather then the breed it's self. People get pits, make them mean and that's what people see more then anything.

Quoting MrsMason:" Define "large aggressive" Pits, and all but one "bully breed" are medium dogs, average weight being ... [snip!] ... distort things to make themselves believe what the "populars" believe. Education is seriously lacking in a lot of people."

I will bet you $1,000 that more dog bites come from small breed dogs than a bully breed.

AMEN!
