I have too but the people I know were tested and nothing was said. If our OB doesn't test that doesn't mean the hospital we go to won't test either though right? I'm not worried about our OB testing her bc she doesn't but what about the hospital?

See me and her are both on medicaid so thats why i think even if our OB doesn't test her, the hospital will.

I kNow a girl who has failed all of the drug tests her OB has given her, amd the doc told her if she fails more than 3 DCF ( department of children and families) will get involved and more than likely take her kid. But shes the type of person who could care less

I really doubt they will test honestly. I don't know how it works at the hospital with medicaid though.

If it was for myself I'd probably call the hospital and ask but seeing as how its for a friend I don't feel comfortable doing that.

it all depends. i kept both babies in my room unless they HAD to leave. neither baby was tested. (here you have to consent to that!) My Friend had her baby at 35 weeks and he was in the nursery because she had a REALLY bad labor. and they drug tested him. another friend had a full term baby in the NICU and he was drug tested. so i guess it just matters if they think its needed.

but it only takes about 30 days for THC to be out of your system.

See, our OB hasn't tested either one of us. So I don't know how the hospital is going to do her.

i pretty sure it depends on the state you live in here in california they dont drug test your child unless you have tested positive before. in my opinion come on its just pot, their are far worse things people put into their body's. i myself am 420 friendly maybe its because i see no problems with it or maybe the fact that i live in a very relaxed state where we have pot stores on every conner like star bucks lol .pot has been around for millions of years and really isnt going anywhere i think if the pregnant parent is responsible about their use no intervention should be made i have smoked during my pregnancies to help me keep food down and to take the edge off my nausea but only in very small amounts

Were you on medicaid with your pregnancies?

Yeah, I wish I lived in Cali. I'm all for 420 but have not smoked during my pregnancy bc of the paranoia that my friend is dealing with now bc she smoked. If I wasn't worried about the state taking my son I probably would have smoked during my pregnancy. Now when I wasn't pregnant and the BD of my daughter wanted to be a jerk n called CPS on me bc I left him, they drug tested me and I told them THC was in my system but they didn't take my daughter from me. They looked at my living situation and made me take one parenting class and closed the case. But then again I wasn't pregnant.

How long has it been since she smoked? also how long does she have till she is due? both of these will factor in. If she hasnt smoked in more than a few weeks she will probably be fine as long as she doesnt smoke anymore and tells others to smoke away from her. Also if she still has some time left in her pregnancy tell her to give it up now. I know a friend who smoked all the way to her 6th month and she and the baby are fine and healthy. I stopped as soon as i found out with both babies. But you have to find out if she is doing ANY thing else also. I think that almost all hospitals are testing your pee when you go in and your in labor.
Also just a thought but, i kinda feel like they probably wont do anything if the THC content is very low. But like if they could tell she had been smoking right before she got there and had been all day they might at least say something.
MJ IS illegal but not many people freak over it.
I personally dont do it while pregnant though because there is no proof that it doesnt hurt the baby.
Hope every thing goes well with her and that she has a happy healthy baby :) they are the best thing that can ever happen to a person
