so i know that castor oil or whatever will make you poop and go into labor but are other laxatives safe? i mean i want her out but i am not taking a laxative for that i am just very uncomfortable and havent been able to go in a week. i am 37 weeks pregnant now, i try to go but i have been having weird pains in my vagina and cervix so it hurts very bad to push at all, and i just cant go no matter how hard i try to.. but i already took the laxative three hours ago so no turning back now. i just wanted to kno what you guys heard or what you know about it. i wanna kno the chances of me going into labor and if so like how quick does it work? cause my sister is going to be an hour and a half away from me tomorrow, and that is my hospital ride and my support in labor. please let me know whatever you kno, anything is helpful:)

I'm pretty sure castor oil doesn't work. Ever.

There are some you can take the entire pregnancy, ask your OB for one

well i got the kind that doesnt cause cramps cause i kno that when you get cramps in your stomach from diarriah (i cant spell worth crap sorry) it can cause contractions and stuff, but i figure that the non cramping laxative would be the best

That doesn't mean it's safe, there are other things to consider, at the very least check what you want to use here

If your wanting to have a BM then try taking colace stool softener and not the colace laxative one! They say to not take laxatives while pregnant because they can start contractions and if the baby isn't ready yet it's not a good idea! I've had to take colace on and off this whole pregnancy because nothing has been helping! Hope this helps and gives you some relief!

i ended up takin 6 laxatives total and they did nothing for me what so ever, i ended up doing an enema (i kno disgusting) and i ended up having horrible contractions but they went away after relaxing, i had a dr appointment in the morning so i wasnt too worried, but i finaly went to the bathroom and i feel better:) lol now just dealing with wanting her out now, feeling misrable and not wanting to eat, forcing myself to eat cause i dont want to starve my baby. and random throwing up. its wonderful lol
